FSLTL update question

Featured Replies

So can you now just run fsltl in 2024 with traffic that follows fr24 or schedule? Or is it still just going to be random planes taking off and flying in opposite directions? Is it basically useless unless you use BaTC?

  • I see, the developer takes an upgrade fee (2020->2024) but doesn't deliver basic support what settings in msfs2024 would fit best? There is no support forum, only discord with one #msfs2024 thread

  • I don't see random planes taking off from and flying in opposite directions.  BATC uses only its own ATIS and whatever that looks at so you will have BATC directing you to runways that FSLTL isn't usi

  • After having used BATC with SU4 and FSLTL, today I'll reinstall FSHUD and give it a go with the FLTL injector 🙂

I don't see random planes taking off from and flying in opposite directions.  BATC uses only its own ATIS and whatever that looks at so you will have BATC directing you to runways that FSLTL isn't using, and of course no wonder there.  I use BATC primarily for ambience for a few reasons:

1.  Can't tolerate the herky jerky animation that BATC manifests w/ FSLTL when you use BATC's injector.  Because of this I use FSLTL's injector where AI traffic animation is very smooth.  It's been maybe a month since I tried BATC's traffic so mean to test it again in case they have come up with a solution for their traffic animation.  One can train oneself to basically ignore the herky jerky if you just don't focus on traffic that is close to you.

2.  The performance cost of using BATC's traffic is substantial, about twice as hard on the CPU as the FSLTL's injector is.   And this is with equivalent local traffic, though FSLTL will often show more because of tighter spacing.

3.  So here BATC isn't managing traffic and is just directing my flight only.  Because of this the use of Premium Voice characters is drastically reduced:  you're not hearing dialogue between controllers and AI traffic because there isn't any when you use FSLTL for injection/management.  So I hear only Premium voices which would be just me and on controller.  To augment this I use LiveATC.net and input the right airport/region and it works for...ambience.

So really, it's 90% ambience, and 10% BATC is directing my flight, irrespective of FSLTL's traffic.

"FSLTL does not use imaginary flight schedules. Rather, it extrapolates flight data from FlightRadar 24 (FR24) and replicates these flights in flight simulator using the appropriate aircraft types and liveries. Therefore, when you see an airbus A380 taking off from Adelaide International (YPAD) the AI is reflecting the actual flight schedule of the real airline. The real time flight information from FR24 is pinged every 20 seconds so the replication is not exactly real time, but it is very close."

However - I can't seem to get my FSLTL on MSFS 2024 to replicate real schedules. I have the Fr24 window open in the browser and also LittleNavMap (LNM to double check what what's being injected into MSFS 2024).

UPDATE: I *do* seem to see the odd take off that corresponds to FR24. I think there's a bit of a delay though. I suspect it may also depend on the accuracy of the airport. I'm testing with NZAA and seem to get taxiway or pushback problems (this is with Flightbeam NZAA). I'll try another airport.

Movement around airports both on the ground and while taking off and landing are controlled by the ai engine of the sim which has no idea what it's doing in terms of required separation or ATC.

Does the FSLTL injector now work with MSFS 2024? In the past when I've googled that question, the results were that it is not officially supported by FSLTL and that it causes CTD's in MSFS 2024.

I always used FSLTL in MSFS 2020 and would love to be able to use it in 2024. Currently I'm using the FSLTL models with BATC as the injector.

Yes it works fine in 2024 and has been for quite some time.

Yep, same here, I can confirm everything is working! I can see live traffic in FSHud!

Can FSLTL be installed to work in MSFS 2020 & 2024 on the same PC.

I find the FSLTL traffic injector works fine in MSFS2024 with one caveat - FSLTL traffic seems to never land  - they just fly over the runway at a couple of hundred feet.  I currently use the FSLTL injector and models along with the sim traffic density set to low (just so I can have a few GA AI aircraft and I can see a few aircraft actually land at airports).

Thanks everyone for clearing up my question about FSLTL Injector in MSFS 2024!

Is and has been FS2024 problem from the beginning and haven't been fixed by asobo.

Yes. It works with both but there are few problems with 2024

Aaaah ... and I thought it was just on my system (or was airport addon related)!
