COWS DA40-NG

Featured Replies

Out now, plus 1.1 update for the DA40-XLS and the DA42 series to v1.2.2

You have to install it again from the ORBX Store page.

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

Can't wait to check these updates out.  I ran the install quick (note that they were uninstalled for me and I had to install them, but they were free through Orbx if you already bought them).  I'm a big fan of this developer and how they are always updating their products.  I didn't have a chance to launch the sim and check them out yet though.

I really want wheel pants - the NG looks so much better with them.  I do realize it's a trainer often - but the option would be nice.

Maybe drop the developers a message? They strike me as very open to suggestions.

This has been suggested to them repeatedly during the development of both the XLS and the NG but for some reason it's just not something they're willing to do.

DA40NG is fun to fly I'm not even going to lie, Start-up is also very simple - just start and go, No mixture/Prop lever to worry about, FADEC handles most of the engine management.

It's really odd to me.  The plane itself is superb...  depth similar to A2A.  If it were 2024 native one could model wheel pants and add them as sim attachments.  That's above my paygrade though.

Is the way the nose is modeled on the DA42-VI accurate? Is there as nose configuration that lacks screws for the nose cone? The way COWS has modeled it it looks like a single piece of molded carbon fiber, which is different from all DA42 I am aware of, where the front cone is clearly attached. I ask  because they went to such lengths to model the aircraft hyper accurately but the nose just looks wrong to me.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

The DA40NG Soundset is just incredible. Close your eyes and audio-wise you could easily believe that you were sitting in the real thing.

But I do find the plane little underpowered, no?
usually I hit pattern altitude on the vare late stage of crosswind leg, right before commencing downwind.

whereas in MSFS I reach pattern altitude almost at midfield on the downwind.

I use the same flight profile as I do IRL and from the same airport. I wouldn't say the difference is staggering, but it seems to lack little oomph (based on my very limited trials, I should add)

I purchased the Cows DA-40 XLS From ORBYX and it shows up in my original computer in MS 2024. I did a new computer build and it says the DA-40 is installed but its not showing up. What does show up is the DA-40 NG. I have tried everything and still can get the Cows DA-40 XLS to show up in my new computer build. Any help would be Appreciated

Oh man, it’s amazing, isn’t it. The whir of the fuel pump….

Is it true that you need a separate program to map the control axis in this airplane?

I heard you can map the ailerons etc through 2024 you need axis and ohs, fsuipc or spad next to get it too work?
