Contrails doesn't have latest update

per discord, there is another patch update about to be released, tonight/tomorrow. for inibuillds and i guess other stores the initial build was pulled until this patch update is ready.

I truly am happy that resetting the password worked for you. I also tried resetting the password. Unfortunately it kept resetting the applied new password back to the previous one, causing me to just click click click drag drag drag all over again due to the now incorrect password. I really wish it was better. I have spent many happy hours with the Kodiak, and wish I could report a positive experience with the PC-12, but unfortunately the experience is just so absolutely frustrating that I won't even try it any more.

I bought it from SWS directly (where you'd assume they'd have the updates first).   The version available for download is still 1.6.10   - which was the update earlier this week.

Unless, if it's just a small hotfix, they haven't incremented the version number.

They have been dragging anchor releasing the patch, to fix what they left out.

So,I decided against me better judgement to try again to access my account and download the update. I went through 26 stupid click click images. 26!!!! And no, I was NOT granted access to my account. Ridiculous

I got the 1.6.11 patch and spent time getting set up in 2024.  First landing about halfway on rollout jerked hard left and off the rwy.  Second landing went better, until I tried adding some reverse thrust and had a hard snap 180 ground loop and ended up going down the runway tail first.

I’ll give it a miss then, which is a shame because the cockpit has a really nice feel in VR.

MSFS 2020 long time for crash.  Update sws pc-12 intermittent crashes now.  Maybe something in community folder.  Oh and don't forget the rudder interconnect / disconnect.

May I suggest you should not Jon, this airplane is not your run-of-the-mill GA aircraft, it does require some involvement on both take-off and landing (I realise I am talking to a 787 Captain!...).

But frankly it is very rewarding when you master the proper technics which are well summarised and explained in the manual, and easily captured - especially by an experienced airman like you!

The fact that rudder pedals and stick are coupled may be disorientating at first, yaw dumper off (take-off and landing), fine-tune trim according to wind, cautious power increase, gentle right rudder control, when 82 knots (flaps 15°) rotate and up you go, same smooth technics on landings, come too fast and apply full reverse and you will inevitably end up on the sideways... rather, flaps 30°, 89 knots on final, on flare look for 80 knots and go for the stall signal, control rudder gently and then only apply a short reverse.

Nothing fancy, a bit of practice and accept to "tame the 1'200 SHP lion" up front with gentleness and patience.

Thanks Bernard, I admire your enthusiasm 👍

I don’t mind having to use some fancy rudder work, as long as it’s representing the real aircraft.

Having spoken to someone who flies the PC12 recently he didn’t seem to recognise the sort of behaviour we’re seeing in the sim.

I do own the aircraft so perhaps will give it another go. I did love the feel of the flight deck in VR and have enjoyed several hours flying the circuit in it , but then became frustrated.

Likely will only be processed during business hours. so maybe tomorrow?

1.6.11   is now live for download on the SWS site.

(This is the hotfix to the major update)

I must say that when I tried 1.6.10 yesterday, my FS2024 crashed every time I tried to load the PC-12.

So I'm hopeful that this new 1.6.11 version works ok.
