RSR predicts release timeframe for updated B738

Here's the interview

Check around the 41 minute mark where he says that the -800 should release by the end of the year. Same for most of the other variants......

The endless critical comments aimed at PMDG really do get boring very, very quickly.

  • Just here for the RSR and PMDG bashing that will inevitably follow LOL  🍿 If a developer still developing for both platforms has literally zero impact on someone's life not sure why anyone would

  • Where do you get this stuff from? According to Randazzo himself the MSFS version of the DC-6 outsold the entire combined sales of the FSX, P3D and XP versions within hours of it's release....

Good to see they are saying ta ta bye bye to MSFS2020 and moving 100% to 2024.  Here's hoping it is by the end of the year.

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

I just re-installed my OS and I didn't bother putting 2020 back on. The 738 is the only add-on I'l lose temporarily.

FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C
BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb

9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps

There’s been simbrief profiles for the 2024 version of the -800 on simbrief since a couple weeks ago. Clearly for the beta testing

Oh indeed you do, but development of it for 2020 has just ground to a halt.

2024 version will be the same P3D port as it was for 2020. That's all. Maybe they will finally add CDPLC as they did with 777

Iirc they said the 2024 version would not be a straight port. There will be changes and remodelling

Which is probably why it has a separate simbrief profile from the 2020 version.

Would like to see CPDLC for this update, and the ability to hide the FOs tablet (like we can in the 777).  Not sure why I find that so important!

Just here for the RSR and PMDG bashing that will inevitably follow LOL  🍿

If a developer still developing for both platforms has literally zero impact on someone's life not sure why anyone would care if things are still being released in 2020...

I can understand if something was ONLY being released for 2020 and I "understand" users still wanting 2024 releases in 2020 although I personally think that ship has sailed but I could literally care less if something is released for users on both platforms.  It appears from another thread Toliss are doing both as well possibly 2020 first so the only reason a 2024 user would be upset is because they didn't get the new toy first... Otherwise, who cares...   The only question in this case is who gets it first or if it's a simultaneous release.

Zero impact on my day.  It may impact their business in one way or another, look at the BB 757 thread but why a "user" would care is beyond me if things are available to everyone.

Edit:  What DOES bother me are those stupid lights behind the interviewer.  I mean could you have something more intrusive, distracting and annoying flashing the whole time please?  See THAT bothers me LOL  😂

I might have missed it but was there any mention of the new 777 sounds that was suppose to be a few weeks away? I caught the part about the 737 sounds and that 777 development has stopped?

Yep, sounds like a brand new version for 2024.

PMDG has not done anything different, The same 737 concept have been carried on from P3D onwards, I see absolutely no difference between the NGXU version on P3D and MSFS version, I have done a comparison myself. Many people will argue that both sims are different and I accept that but has PMDG done anything differently to make it stand out? I mean why should I invest into same airplane with same features?

Exactly. That’s why we need FENIX - like NGX/MAX.

Yup obviously your stirring the popcorn bucket.

It seems you are looking to invite bashing for your pleasure, seems kind of off topic.
