Waiting for Authentication

Microsoft (MSFT) reported its second quarter earnings after the bell on Wednesday, beating Wall Street estimates on the top and bottom lines, with cloud revenue topping $50 billion for the first time.

But the company's stock fell over 11% Thursday as investors worried about that cloud growth slowing — and about the company's ballooning AI-fueled spending.

HEre is why.

  • Ironic that next week marks the one year anniversary of MSFS 2024, and Microsoft is celebrating by reminding us of the launch day experience.😉

Or... there's just the ever slight possibility that no company on Earth offers a 100% availability SLA?

These things happens and it's got nothing to do with stock value lol.

That's the problem with cloud based applications.  They rely on the servers working and MS seem unable to keep them working too many times.  Pretty poor show for a multi billion $ company really.

Stuck here in the UK with limited time available for simming due to other commitments and MS lets us down again - which seems to happen on a regular basis.

Even P3D v6 now requires online autentication every single time you want to run it. I better keep an FSX install around for those off days where internet is not cooperating (or P3D v5).

Same problem in South Africa at the moment. Unacceptable but good to see it is not just me.😡

On the FS Site they are aware of the issues with both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024.  I think 2020 is either back or coming back - MSFS2024 is classed as 'A Partial Outage'

It's now been almost 5 hours of not being able to reach the authentication servers...

I guess by partial outage they mean only the Authentication server is broken (even though that means the entire product is currently unavailable)

Oh broken here as well (USA East server)

edit:  and working now.

I guess it's a wrong assumption because I'm just out of a test flight over Los Angeles, the new City Update with my MSFS2024 and real time weather... without any issue 😉 I did also one early this morning 6 hours ago around 6:30am CET.

Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.

After the same issue, it works again now for me

Not necessarily - it says that 'Part of the Community may be affected'.  Interestingly, the most recent update is at 11.34 UTC and it is now 14:07 UTC with no further update

Yup - ref my comment above.  I suppose in some respect, it is better that some regions are still OK that a worldwide issue.
