December 9, 2025Dec 9 Is everyone with a NVIDIA GPU now using the NVIDIA App to install their drivers for MS2024? I am on MS2020 and making the switch this weekend. I still have the last set of drivers that came with the old Nvidia control panel. Obviously they need to be upgraded for MS24. I hear the NVIDIA App is bloatware and causes a bunch of issues Not sure if the latest version is still that way but I understand the NVIDIA App filters do not work with MS2024? Would like to pick the collective Avsim user base brains for what best practice is before leaping into it. Mods: please allow this to stay here for some visibility for a few days as many are now going to MS2024 with SU4 release. Eric
December 9, 2025Dec 9 I am but not everyone is. The app isn't bloatware, it's perfectly ok and replaces the old Control Panel very nicely. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
December 9, 2025Dec 9 I will reinstall fs2024 as soon as my desktop get´s available and this turn around will go nvdia app only. December 9, 2025Dec 9 I recently switched to the Nvidia app and it’s fine. The major isssues it had when it launched are long fixed, and now I prefer to use it to keep drivers updated and so on. I don’t use any additional features in MSFS but certainly in various other games it is nice to be able to tweak stuff. I do like the nvida overlay with the FPS readout. overall I’d say it’s fine and I’ll keep it now. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
December 9, 2025Dec 9 I use it and have never had an issue, and always update when a new driver releases. I've turned off overlay as I read somewhere ages ago it can hinder performance, but can't really confirm if this is the case or not. Hello, Until recently, I was using Nvidia Applications with driver version 566.36, and everything worked perfectly with both 2020 and 2024, including the filter set (for improving color accuracy and sharpness). I changed my system configuration (see my signature), including my graphics card. I installed the latest Nvidia driver and encountered two problems: I can't launch MSFS 2020 in DirectX 11 mode; when MSFS loads, it returns to the desktop without any message (this issue was resolved via the MSFS forum). While the filter set works with MSFS 2020, it's impossible to use it with MSFS 2024. December 9, 2025Dec 9 I use the Nvidia Experience framerate counter and lost it when I installed the Nvidia app and could only get it back by uninstalling and reinstalling Nvidia Experience. Whilst I don't like it, it seems like I'm stuck with it until Nvidia eventually phase it out altogether. December 10, 2025Dec 10 Driver 591.44 works, but it's producing flickering here. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
