December 31, 2025Dec 31 I have another question. As you know MSFS2024 comes with its own keyboard commands and the option to use the MSFS2020 keyboard profile I use the 2020 keyboard commands on all my aircraft as it’s easier to remember coming from 2020. Does CP remove the camera views from all my profiles in the sim or just the one I’m currently using for my aircraft? Is it recommend that I create a separate mouse and keyboard profile for Chaseplane use only? It's a complete replacement of the MSFS camera system. Your keyboard shortcuts don't matter. That means: you can use them with (or better: bind them to) ChasePlane. But it's important NOT to have the same shortcut associated both with CP and the proprietary cam system of MSFS. You may not have any key conflicts in the cam/view department. That won't work. I will not install CP in 2024 then until official support for VR in 2024 is implemented. Pity. Bindings are very easy in Chaseplane and you may have far more options than in MSFS (limited to 10 views). As you do, I'm using the MSFS2020 keyboard and mouse controls. I only duplicated the general profiles for all my controlers (the yoke as well) and then deleted the camera assignments. After that, you may assign the same keys or same axis in Chaseplane as those you are using in MSFS. It's probably quicker to let Chaseplane erase all your camera settings, but I wanted to be sure to keep my initial ones without having eventually to desinstall the program. December 31, 2025Dec 31 For those using VR and it's working, does this app have a similar feature to the default VR COCKPIT FOCUS? Whereby you can bind a button to "move" your viewpoint around the cockpit? Or alternatively can someone please check if that still works with CP installed? As I use that feature a lot. As I only ever run in VR and stay in VR and now reading above it works from entering VR in the menu, then I might give it a try. But the above feature is key as use that a lot, thanks Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
December 31, 2025Dec 31 I'm also very interested in just how usable / worth it, CP is for VR. I'd buy it in a second if I knew for sure it was working well and actually worth it. Unfortunately there just isn't much info on whether it does. The last time I checked //42 website is specifically said ChasePlane was not currently supported for VR in MSFS 24.
December 31, 2025Dec 31 Yeah think I'll give it a full miss until they support VR properly, I've seen that the Smart View (akin in VR COCKPIT FOCUS) doesn't work in VR at all so maybe it's best to simply wait. December 31, 2025Dec 31 I bought it, and it took me about 30 minutes to set up all my views. I skipped the tutorial, which is rubbish, and set up my usual views. Setting up views isn't much different than with the default system: you move to a view you like, you save it, you assign a hotkey to it. Done. Features like spot view, cinematic view, etc. are more for gamers and youtubbers. If you are a strictly "flying from the cockpit" simmer, the default camera system works just fine.
December 31, 2025Dec 31 I finally installed CP. it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Setup was fairly simple once I got a grasp of how to configure it. 80% of the time I will be in the cockpit but I like having options. One of my favorite options is to be able to turn off the transitioning when switching views. I prefer instant views. I also like the human touches for breathing and aircraft movement. The other bonus is being able to use the same key to cycle through different views. To me, all the above was worth the investment.
