Anyone know how I can slow down the transitions between internal cameras?

Edit the Group of said views, there is a "transition duration" option.

For those that already own a copy of CP for 2020, there is a code available on //42 Discord page

I almost paid another 32 euro when I accidently saw your posting... Thanks for that.
As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no mention of this discount code on the Parallel42 website.
It would be nice if they do mention this on their website. I'm sure a lot of other customers do not know this.

Well.. I stand corrected: It is mentioned (sort of...), but only if you read their blog posts:

They are held in the cloud; mine were all there after installation.

IIRC, it was quite clearly stated when you bought CP for 2020 that the upgrade to 2024 would be free.

So, I certainly expected it to be free, however I agree that the required code was not clearly displayed or advertised.

Anyone figure out how to make the drone cam move fast like in MSFS24?  This disables the sim drone cam so you must use the new one.  Problem is it is really slow and even if I move slider to 100 it doesn't stick.  It may be operator error though.

Similar frustration here - don't really want to hold a speed up button constantly. Otherwise really nice product

I bought this yesterday and while it is excellent as a product, I felt a bit annoyed that I was effectively paying £28 for something that should be built in to the simulator. X-Plane for instance has a super-intuitive camera view setup ... CTRL+numpad to save the current view for instance. Simple. Perfect.

This is not a shade to P42 who have built a good product in ChasePlane, but more to Asobo who failed miserably with their default camera system and left a third party to do it properly. I'd have rather not spent the money for such functionality to be perfectly honest with you.

99.99% Agree. Even FSX/P3D had most of these features as default.

I have no idea what the complaint is about. MSFS supports the exact same view system: Ctrl + number to save a view, and number to recall it. You just have to do the key assignment correctly...

The only real advantage X-Plane has in this area is the fly-by camera. Otherwise, the view setup and recall functionality works essentially the same in both simulators.

It has never worked quite right for me. Perhaps I was doing it wrong but getting cameras into position in MSFS was always a pain too - with Chaseplane it's made super simple. I mean the simple fact that the utility exists in the first place should tell you something about the default camera system being terrible.

I don’t think the issue is the MSFS camera system itself so much as how it’s being set up and used. That’s likely why some people miss the point of ChasePlane in MSFS if not for the Tower/Fly-by functionality.

I’ve used ChasePlane extensively in P3D for years, so I’m very familiar with what it offers. From that experience, I can say that MSFS’s built-in camera system is actually very reliable and capable, provided the initial key bindings and camera controls are configured correctly. In that sense, it’s no different from ChasePlane, which also requires some up-front setup before it becomes intuitive and efficient.

I used to hate the default camera system at the start when MSFS first came out but once I got the hang of it I no longer hated it. Could it still be improved? For sure.

I still decided to get chaseplane as I do like the further controls you can do, plus no set limit on the amount of views. Plus the extras such as the flyby, cinematics and also the additional camera motion (cockpit shake etc).

Just bought this morning and have got things up and running by following the quick tutorial. I'm keen to use my Stream Desk XL to change views but have had no success whatsoever using the flightsim.to Stream Desk profile for the 2020 version of Chaseplane. If anyone on here has any joy can they please offer any help?

I use my Stream Deck (15 button) to alias the Numpad 0-9 keys, then plug those shortcuts into Chaseplane.
