Returning to FS after a long break - AI traffic suggestions

Featured Replies

It has been a 4 year break from Flight Sim for me - new PC build today and MSFS 2024 is going to be the main event.

Having airports populated by realistic liveries and ideally traffic which corresponds to real world schedules would be the ideal for me.

Is this attainable and if so what add ons should I be using ?

Many thanks

Have a look at PSXT.  The dev has a forum here on AVSIM.

I'll second PSXT...it is used with any models you have installed (ie FSLTL, AIG, JF Traffic)  It tracks real-time movements so aircraft are at the correct gates, etc.  If you own Beyond ATC, their AI traffic is also pretty good, there were times I was using it just for the traffic.   I have tried/used all of them over the past few years and I have been the happiest with PSXT......

Indeed, the installer is uber simple, and the landing gear is visible, and jetways attach automatically at gates.  I love the nav lights as well from a distance and the models work great with BATC.

I use FSLTL and I've been happy with it as well as getting fairly frequent updates when needed.  As it's free, there is nothing wrong with giving it a try and if you don't like it, it comes with its own uninstaller.

I use beyondATC, i like that the ai traffic is based on real schedules and does react to me. Especially on ground.

I'll add my vote for FSLTL. It has always worked well on my system. I'd also take a look at FSHud - that works well with it.

I use AIG its Free has every airline and model. Yes it takes a bit to install. But once done it is perfect.

I use FSLTL with SayIntentions and the landing gears are often invisible.  Really frustrated by it!

FSLTL for the models and then BeyondATC for the traffic injection and ATC. Once you've done a flight with it it's difficult to go back to no ATC/traffic.

Until the atc add-ons like beyondatc and sayintentions improve the ai traffic movements (aircraft basically land so hard it should be a crash landing, and the aircraft in beyondatc move around on the ground like RC models and not actual heavy machines) I'll be sticking with PSXT

Aircraft injected by PSXT actually land smoothly

BATC and FSTL models for AI traffic work very well together.

Intel i7-9700K - AMD 7900 XT (VRAM 20GB) - 32 Gb Ram - SSD Drive - Win10 x64 - Samsung 43" 4K TV - Quest 3 VR

PSXT (free or optional donate)  + RealTraffic ($108/yr) + AIG (free or optional donate only need the AI manager) … but be aware AIG models will have missing landing gear until clarification from Asobo.  AIG do support more carriers so you’ll get more accuracy.
