Haha, that's great to hear! Hope you find my videos useful. Are you engaging the autopilot immediately after Takeoff? If so try IAS Hold 250 k - that mode will never cause a descent.

The real aircraft shouldn't descend like that. It could also be a premature flap retraction too.

Thoroughly enjoyed the video, learned some stuff I wasn't aware of (turning off hydraulics etc after departure) and have subscribed to your channel - keep up the good work.

I really hope immersive doesn't take too much longer on their soundpack update.

  • After flying many many flights in the RW MD 80's there's not much sound if you're sitting up front. It's like riding in a Cadilac. If you're sitting in the rear of the plane you might hear the turbine

Finally sussed it...and this may affect others. Also, while I was trying to fly the MD-82 in MSFS2024, I'm guessing the same thing can happen in MSFS2020. Scenario: Simply NOTHING described in an

Anyone know if there's a freighter version planned for the maddog?

I think a lot of those AA pilots are prior military, judging by the bank angles and other maneuvers they pulled 😉

🙂

Those AA pilots sure loved the Mad Dog, some of them flying them for decades…

I personally did not ever experience any Top Gun (Tom Cruise) maneuvers…🙂…in my mundane domestic flights on it…

I especially recall one MD-80 late night (wintry) arrival into O’Hare, when the AA Pilots walked with my family to the Shuttle bus stop outside the terminal, and gave each of us a wing pin…a memorable gesture…🙂

I think the last time I flew on them was just before the AA MD-80s were temporarily grounded.

These airplanes were true symbols of the McDonnell Douglas legacy, so, it’s really nice to have such a good one in our SIM.

Thinking of MD-80 and top gun, this comes to mind

I finally upgraded last night. The new cockpit looks absolutely stunning!!

Has anyone found a workaround for the disappearing of cockpit sounds when using non-default views?

Cheers,

Pete

I saw this in the change log:

Added Custom View sound set selection (cabin / cockpit).

Hopefully it’s not all or nothing (though I would guess it probably is) as I use custom views for both the cockpit and passenger views.

nice!

I love the new version but also waiting for the immersive audio sound upgrade as the engines sound faint from the cabin view…

The only issue I’m having is weird engine start behavior when starting the second engine. It manages to start but then RPM drops. Anyone seeing this?

strange. I haven't encountered this issue. Did you introduce the fuel too soon?

I haven't seen the issue, but in fairness not really flying it until the immersive sound pack comes out.
