January 20Jan 20 Waved goodbye to MSFS 2020 when I purchased a new PC in December last year. Since everything seems to be working well in MSFS 2024, I have not regretted that decision. Even setting up the controls for my PMDG airliners was a lot more straightforward than I was expecting. January 20Jan 20 After trying SU3, I re-installed my OS to clear the drive of 2020 and its add-ons. So far, I haven't missed 2020. FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb 9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps
January 20Jan 20 As a man who's just re-installed all my old P3D systems to access my aircraft from those days, I shall probably keep my 2020 system in place until its drive dies on me. I've got plenty of space, so no issues there. I don't use it much, but enjoy it when I do (although I've become sufficiently accustomed to 2024's menus and foibles to find 2020's annoying sometimes now). I've still got a working, and occasionally used, FSX system here as well. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Much the same here - I have MSFS2020 on its own SSD that I don't need for anything else so it's doing no harm. But there are a few more reasons I am keeping it: * I occasionally fly multiplayer with a friend who only has MSFS2020 * The UK internet service (esp outside SE/London) is, at best, 'shaky'. I know that both sims need the internet to boot up, but MSFS2024 needs a decent one that will keep going all evening. It's useful to still be able to fly even when my full-optic-pc-directly-connected-to-server broadband goes cross-eyed, which it does from time to time *MSFS2020 is stable. Updates in MSFS2024, while always welcome, temporarily break the sim more frequently than I would wish. SU4 - which is absolutely splendid - broke my sim for about a week, especially tube-liners. Asobo/PMDG/iFly/inibuilds tubeliners - all of them were unflyable during a week of fixing the issues one-by-one. It was a useful sanity check to go back into MSFS2020 and fly a tubeliner to make sure that my recollection of how you actually get them to take off - even from a 'Ready to T/O' state spawned at the end of the runway (yes, really) or, worse, from 'Cold and Dark' - was correct. *There are one or two aircraft I fly in MSFS2020 that will probably never be made compatible in MSFS2024 Edited January 20Jan 20 by AJZip2 Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset

January 20Jan 20 Nope! Still enjoying flying in 2020 even though i just started using 2024 when su4 dropped In some circumstances it looks better. Mike
January 20Jan 20 I have 2020 still loaded and active on my system. Even though I haven't used it since release of 2024. I'm gradually deleting addons from 2020 once I find a 2024 compatible version. I invested heavily in Orbx addons for 2020 and don't want to loose access to them until more are made compatible to 2024. I've been testing most of them on my own and found most of them working very well since SU4. I will never purchase anymore 2020 products, I'm all in on 2024. And having fun enjoying it. January 20Jan 20 I got a new PC after 2024 and never even installed 2020. I don't have the time to mess around with two different sims when 2024 works perfectly fine for me. Honestly, for me 2020 gave me more headaches than 2024 does. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

I'm not keen on flight simulation though. That’s something…! I genuinely believe you do have all these together with yourself now and not just saying it to spite the ones among us who are currently on MSFS2024 alone…🙂… However, it’s just a matter of how much time (and attention) one can give to each one though. Prior to my MSFS2020, when I was literally the only one carrying on the FSX baton in the Screenshots Forum for a few years (and when occasionally someone out of sheer kindness, would comment, “Nice shots”…🙂…), I recall some folks there having up to 3-4 SIMs such as XP, P3D, DCS, and AFS, but clearly only one was their primary and active SIM. Anyway, you have the world of simulation at your fingertip, though you say you may not be keen on simulation. Betrothed to Microsoft SIM here…FS2002 through MSFS2024…always been loyal to only one…at a time…🙂… Edited January 20Jan 20 by P_7878
