Anyone got any good flight suggestions, routes, airports/strips, etc.?

Hawai’i.
Susi Air in Indonesia (reality tv)
Missionary Bush Pilot on YouTube (Daher Kodiak, but same types of flying)

So excited for this, and cool to have the amphibious version. I got to sit in the cockpit of one a little while ago on the ground and it's amazing how high up you are. Pilot said it's the same cockpit height as an E-jet and I believe it.

I'll try out some of Asobo's detailed airports in the Carribean and French Polynesia

I’ll have to pick this up and see how it is; I’ve got over 1000 hours in real life caravans.

Some things I see right away.

In the systems video, the fuel pump should be ON to start, not norm. That way you don’t get the OFF/ON pump action that you get in norm, when fuel pressure is below a certain value.  Then you select NORM after the start.

I saw someone select the standby power ON before the start, definitely not. That’s on after start.  Same with both avionics switches, unless it’s a G1000 and then you’d have avionics 1 on for start.

The start should have two ITT spikes, when the primary and secondary injectors come on.

Fuel imbalance, he closed the wrong fuel tank.  If you have an imbalance, you close the tank that is lower, so you burn the fuller tank to even them out.

No mention of trim changes for every single flap change, and rudder trim for power changes.

I’ll be very curious on the water handling, since it’s terrible in every sim, but the caravan has some unique things, like sailing at a 45 degree angle to the wind, and needing full right rudder for the start of the slide to stay straight.  As soon as you pull the water rudders up, it will start weathervaning into the wind, so I wonder how that is.

On landing, as the aircraft comes off the step, the tail can get splashed by a lot of water, especially on the long fuselage models.  This slams the controls around, so I wonder if that’s modelled too.

Full reverse can blank the rudder on landing, and it’s really uncomfortable because a lot of steering authority disappears.

The windshield isn’t heated by the deicing system. It has an anti icing plate on the pilots side.  The windshield does have defrost, but that’s a different system.

The side vents he mentions at the start of the video are INSANELY loud when they’re open, like it instantly doubles the cabin noise and we NEVER use them.  Hopefully that’s modelled too because it’s super annoying IRL.

I’m sure I’ll think of some other things too once I get my hands on it.

Could all be user error? If not, share your views with the developer. He's open to suggestions to improve his products.

It is user error for sure, the procedures aren’t being correctly followed.

Just watched Jeff’s start and take off, again the fuel pump, didn’t use full torque for takeoff, as soon as you’re airborne and there’s no icing conditions, pull some torque off and then push in the separator.  You’ll gain some torque back.

Prop full forward for climb.  Maybe 1800 or 1750 for cruise if you want to reduce the noise a bit.  Otherwise it just stays at 1900 RPM.

I’ll probably be picky because I flew this thing all over, on wheels, floats and amphibs, into dirt strips, small lakes and ocean landings.  It’s one of my favourite IRL airplanes.

You should make a video when you get it and show us how it’s really done! I know a lot of us would appreciate learning from your experience.

I can probably do that; I’m at sim right now and then I have a weeks worth of work away from home, but once I’m back I’ll get to it.

Eye height on the Amphib van is the same as a 737.
