May 18May 18 2020 still looks better than 2024, you agree?Maybe not better, but not worse either. YMMV. TANSTAAFL. Blue skies,-B
May 19May 19 2020 still looks better than 2024, you agree?Have to disagree with you here. 2024's lighting and overall scenery far surpasses 2020.

May 19May 19 2020 still looks better than 2024, you agree?Lighting in 2024 is great and far surpasses 2020, overall 2024 is better for my visual needs in VR but as ever everyone sees things differently. However texture sharpness was much better in 2020 until Asobo did their usual and downgraded at the sake of performance, we've also still not got back the 512x512 textures they somehow broke last year...so overall even though 2024 is better it should be a lot better than it currently is. May 19May 19 I have only been flying in 24 for a couple of weeks now, but my observation of the atmosphere and weather, is that it can be average at times, but often it is outstanding! May 19May 19 2020 still looks better than 2024, you agree?Based on that screenshot, I disagree. There is far too much RED at dawn and dusk in MSFS 2020, and that can clearly be seen in your screenshot. The lighting in the third MSFS 2024 screenshot above yours is far more convincing and realistic (not quite sure what to think about the other two). I do not say this to denigrate MSFS 2020 in any way. I just remember what it was like flying at dawn with a thick unrealistic red band on the horizon, and deep red colours in the clouds. This is much more subtle in MSFS 2024. May 19May 19 My screenshot is degraded somewhat from the original. IMO, the lighting in XP is even better. Edited May 19May 19 by The_Flying_Potato
May 19May 19 Author @Christopher Low 😃MSFS 2020 can look beautiful too. I have plenty of screenshots saved that remind me of the clouds early on, but over time v2020 needed lighting add-ons to make it better. Recently I tried v2020 again, and with the recent updates to v2024, especially the night lighting, it's now better in every way. I do have some night lighting mods, but it's more for cities and terrain, than the sky. I have ATMOS and don't even need it.The pics I posted are vanilla v2024 weather and lighting. It was one of those WOW moments I wanted to share. MSFS
