I forget exactly where it is but there's a setting/file that the Map Enhancement Tool changes in MSFS.

That might be the problem.

Here's a link I found on Github, may be helpful.

It's at the bottom of the page. https://github.com/derekhe/msfs2020-map-enhancement/issues/545#issuecomment-2164967960

Pay attention when removing it this way, msfs2020-map-enhancement modifies your hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host). You will need to edit it manually, else you won't be able to use online bing data anymore from msfs.

I am happy to report that I was finally able to resolve this and it was indeed Map Enhancement Tool that caused the problem. My mistake with the Hosts file was I simply deleted the addresses at the bottom. Apparently, this wasn't good enough. Microsoft Flight Simulator Support told me to delete the "hosts" file completely and rebuild it and that solved my network connection issue.

Thanks for the advice and to all the others who took the time to offer suggestions. No more Map Enhancement for me.

Given that SU6 was released only yesterday and you’ve had the problem for 3 days it can’t be SU6 that is the problem …

The first thing i would check is if they are enabled using library. Blue skies,

Yeah, change to "How I broke 2024 and not SU6". But glad you got things worked out and back into the skies.

I found this was a problem some time back and with the use of a VPN, cured the slow download speeds for some reason. Now, every time I boot FS2024 I turn on my VPN, no more issues.

Why? The SU6 did break MSFS2024 in my system. It worked flawlessly until I installed the update. Had I known there was an issue with map enhancement, I would have uninstalled it prior to the update. I just stated that it broke as a factual point of cause and effect, not assigning moral blame or fault. In software engineering, when someone says an update "broke" something, it is a neutral technical observation. It simply means that an unintentional change in Code A cause an unintentional, negative side effect in Code B. No reason for the passive aggressive replies for someone seeking answers to a problem.

Finally figured it out. I kept getting the same number MS error code and looked into it. Turns out 13th and 14th Intel processors had a flaw where under certain circumstances the processors allowed way too much voltage to spike and crash the computer. Updated the bios, and did not overclock, which has solved the problem. Thanks much for the effort and thought that went into all of your responses, and happy flying.

Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.
