  1. Past hour
  2. Folks: Really appreciated the comments and responses...thanks a lot...!!
  3. Beautiful shots and a beautiful paint scheme, pmplayer...! [Had once dived into the DCS's MiGs, but never got into it seriously...this one would be more to my taste ...🙂...]
  4. It was in the thread I linked: Assistance Options -> ATC enforce flight plan ON
  5. Oh, sorry, I found it, THANK YOU! MUCH APPRECIATED
  6. FSHUD - nothing comes close to it in XP12 ... FSIPANEL ? Is there an equivalent to this one which is great in MSFS 2020 to position any of my airliners on a SID / STAR / APP, Route waypoint... or in a training situation including emergencies? Regarding ATC, yes I know about RC3 being usable with XP but it's a mess for me to install.. and yes there's Pilot2ATC, but it doesn't control AI Traffic... WT3 is very very poor when it comes to ATC and traffic control... Any alternative suggestions really welcomed !
  7. Hi Dave Are you using them as static? Any problems with the visuals? Ian
  8. Once in a while I use "active" but only in towered airport . It's just a silly way to abbreviate and shorten your communication if radio chatter traffic is high. However, proper way to use it actually call out runway number and even specify where you are at at hold short. For example "XXX tower, Cherokee one five tango holding short runway two four at alpha one
  9. You need to turn ON (IIRC) the setting to enforce the flight plan. Even though you're not inputting a flight plan, the selection of a runway is part of a flight plan to MSFS.
  10. Great set of images of all shapes and sizes, Andy...surely brings back memories of our old SIMs....thanks for sharing...!
  11. Thank you for your message! I forgot to mention that there is no wind, no Flight Plan (FPL) or Air Traffic Control (ATC) involvement. Previously, I did not encounter any issues with selecting any runway that I had in mind. However, now I am facing an issue with runway selection. I have checked my user experience and assistance settings, and everything is turned off. I have rechecked them again for confirmation.
  12. Fortuitous...🙂.... like that word...quite an amazing shot, Andy...!
  13. To me that is dangerous, active could be rwy 9 or rwy 27 depending on the pilot's idea of what the wind is.
  14. As I flew into many uncontrolled US airports in the 70's, I used the term "active" when shooting an approach into fields away from home. Though I had a fair idea of the prevailing winds and the probable active runway, I didn't always have "local knowledge", so I would usually make the following call on Unicom: "Wagon Wheel, Cessna 5993G to land - what are your winds and active?" This allowed me to verify current local traffic and the active runway so I could enter the pattern properly. When at my home field I would just announce my attentions. When at controlled fields I would never use that term as the runway would be specified by the controller.
  15. "Saitek Panels" mean only the Multi, Radio and Switchpanels. FIPs are in a different section below that. (Those are two completely different and unrelated technologies)
  16. The folks in charge at Carenado have never been the sharpest knives in the drawer when it comes to marketing and management of a business. They have dozens of FSX and P3D products just sitting on a file server with likely very low sales rates because they stubbornly refuse to have any sales or lower their prices permanently. At this point I could give two ***** what happens to Carenado. Dave
  17. It seems to work nontheless. When I start the simulator I can use the FIP configuration of AAO. Nevermind! Thank you!
  18. It's the same here. What works well for me is to first choose a parking position. At this point MSFS will choose a runway apparently based more on your parking position than other factors. So....if you wish to take of on ANY particular runway the key is to choose a SID married to that particular runway you wish to use, then ATC will direct you to that runway.
  19. Thanks, John. Yes, kind of...🙂... probably had also done it in advance of my trip last time I visited MCO/Disney...🙂.... cannot believe 15+ years have passed since ... Appreciated the comment, pmplayer...!! Thank you, Bernd. Glad you could recall a bit from the Epcot Park. Now, I recall a thing that maybe of interest to you...I'd bratwurst and cabbage in the German stall...🙂...with a certain brew to go with it...🙂...a brand that would not be normally found in grocery stores ... Appreciated the note, Andy. Yes, KORD is now slightly more efficient maybe, but not much better...from what you recall. They are building a huge multi-Storey parking that might avoid ground traffic in future, but KORD is my connection to all my world trips. I would not have seen the world without it...and would not have flown in so many a/c types without it...It has contributed tremendously to my aviation interest not being a Pilot, so, I'm grateful to it... Oh...about 767, you mean the one from CS without an actual 767flightdeck ...🙂 ...similar to their 777...Actually, when CS had brought out their original 757s/767s I was active daily on their forum, and, as I recall, I had also participated via the stepwise versions they were releasing these products ... But I'm with you Andy, if you are fond of a certain aircraft type, you can get it irrespective of avionics and flight fidelity. To me, an aircraft type stands for many more things...e.g., unique history, memories, and a story of its own from its lifetime of deployment...As an aviation enthusiast, I feel those sense more when I actually get to fly it, even if it's not pilot-grade...🙂...Hope, we get the 757 soon in MSFS... Thanks for chiming in, Andreas...! Will: Appreciated the comment...! Spoken by a native...🙂...Thanks for the kind words, Patrick, and, of course, about United, you would know...
  20. Can anybody tell me what is the best program to make flightplans? I know that MRAIgen is out there but is specifically made for FS9 and apparently not for FSX. I see Alpha-India makes good flightplans, now I just need a good program to make a traffic file so that those aircraft will be in operation for AI use. Help? Appreciated. Thanks!
  21. There is no mouse sluggishness here, and apparently those other 'casual users' (i.e., the one's not focused on latency overlays) don't experience this either. Gee whiz how do you cope with dragging the mouse thru molasses? That must be so frustrating do you have to plan your mouse moves 60ms in advance? 🤣
