  1. Amer, Did you use the WOAI Installer to remove the airlines?
  2. I'm sure this thread will eventually be closed if it keeps going this way. Has it morphed into an argument over what is a "dead" product? Is there implied resentment from some that RC is no longer updated? Is there fear that some low information folks may read this thread, conclude that RC is dead, not purchase it, and the RC folks removing the product, support, etc. as a consequence? Call the product dead or not, I think RC is still a very good default ATC replacement for those folks that prefer a little more realism. I do not have Pro ATC X, only because I did not see anything advertised that told me it had features better than RC that would've motivated me to purchase another default ATC replacement. But, if I had purchased Pro ATC X first, then perhaps I may feel the same about purchasing RC. Hope that by now the OP has a good idea what folks think about the default ATC replacement products the own and use and make a decision on which one to purchase. They're all still for sale.
  3. Does anyone knows if it supports shared cockpit?
  4. Steve, The AES program is free. It comes with AES services (jetways, etc.) available for some airports. Suggest you download it, play with it and see how you like it.
  5. Exactly as Brian said. The two products do not interfere with each other. Having both, I use GSX in airports for which I do not have AES. For me the one feature AES has over GSX is the moving, high-performance, jetways. On the other hand, with GSX I can see loaders actually loading/unloading baggage.
  6. I do have both AES and GSX. Very good products. FlightBeam KDEN comes with its own movable jetways, and all GSX services. Still, I would like to see AES including FB KDEN in a future update as an option. There should be no reason to prevent AES from working on FlightBeam airports.
  7. Oliver, Where you seeing AES telling you that it is not the topmost entry in the library and that this could cause problems, and whether you would like to have AES correct it?
  8. Version 1.1 is out. Photoreal coverage is for the greater San Juan area, including some hand-placed autogen, and some custom buildings (stadiums, coliseums, old spanish castle, etc.).
  9. A very good rendition of a popular area/destination. Very minor glitches that one can only see when walking the grounds. It includes the airport plus the greater San Juan area, including another airport closer to old San Juan. Having lived in the area for 20 years, I can say this is the best FS scenery I've seen of TJSJ.
  10. Ric, I think you know the only way to get a sale on ASN is if you buy it full price. Seriously, if you can't afford it, or rather spend the money on other products, then so be it. But I think the demo showed you the quality of this product. After all, shouldn't good weather representation be an essential layer in flight simulation?
  11. Stan, The FMC is a computer that gets information from you to calculate optimal information that is used by other components, typically the autopilot to control side-to-side (lateral) and vertical navigation. It also helps the crew handle the complexity of such flights while increasing safety of flight. When I fly as PIC (passenger in coach) on a real airplane, I'm sure that when the Captain says "... we'll have you there in 20 minutes..." he doesn't take out his E6B and performs time/distance calculations. He just glances at the "progress" page on his FMC. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun learning how to input the information, read what it puts outs, and enjoy the added sense of realism flying an airliner.
  12. Driver170, Are you looking for a "real life route planner" that list all the waypoints in a route so you can individually enter them in PMDG NGX's FMC? In "real life" B737NG pilots would most likely load company-prepared flight plans into the FMC. This reduces the likelihood of mistakes since there is less manual inputs. In those cases where the route is entered manually, one does not have to individually enter each waypoints when there are terminal procedures or airways as part of the plan since the FMC allows entering a terminal procedure or an airway by its name. Based on this, you can simulate the process by importing into the FMC a flight plan in PMDG format. You can create this flight plan in a couple of ways: flight planner tools, or web sites. We can add more details on either one of these approaches. One cool thing about flight simulator is that you can do things whichever way you want, even if not necessarily realistic. For example, you can manually enter each route waypoint into the NGX FMC. It is very likely PFPX, and others show all route waypoints, either in list or graphical format. There are also web route sources that do, i.e., simroutes.com (when it's working), simbrief, and routefinder. I'm sure there are others. You can also use free tools such as vroute.
  13. dwaz, Suggest checking out vroute. It would allow you to either use an existing route in their database, or create your own (from flightaware, etc.). Either way, you can export the route in multiple format, including PMDG's.
  14. Andy, quick answers: suggest posting in UK2000 forum.
  15. For what I read in the forum, ASN, FSGRW, and OPUS meet your requirements of "...realistic low visibility and overcast depiction." Each product has a good following. Consider this video. Unfortunately these type of threads tend to go as crappy as the bad weather depicted by these apps. Someone will insult someone, the thread gets "monitored" and then closed. Hope this one is the exception.
  16. Sounds like you want to learn to fly jets, like the B737 in FSX (B737-800), but you don't think FMCs are "not important." It also seems you're making a direct correlation between jets and IFR. You can learn IFR flying on your Cessna 172 or other general aviation airplanes as long as they have the minimum set of instruments required (you fly the airplane using instruments on your panel, and you navigate the aircraft with signals being received by another set of instruments). I also suggest to follow the IFR lessons in FSX. It will show you how to fly IFR in FSX. You could also learn from a book such as this one. Clearly you can fly a B737-800 without an FMC, and in FSX everything is possible. In real life, you couldn't legally fly a B737-800 for commercial purposes without a copilot. It's too complex, especially if you try to fly optimally. The FMC is the "helper" instrument that allows you to fly a B737-800 "optimally" while significantly reducing the level of complexity and raising safety of flight. Now, wouldn't it be cool to learn how?
  17. Based on what has been announced, we will see a PMDG B747 v2. While some are anxious to see this product released, others are anxious to see service packs, v2s, and new PMDG offerings. Wouldn't you say that it's likely that to keep the same PMDG product quality across the product line, and with a limited set of developer, PMDG has to decide which product to work on at any given time? I'm sure it's not exactly as I describe... it's likely multiple teams are working on several projects in parallel, some of those team member switch teams at times, some projects are put on hold at times for various reasons, and any planned release sequence could also change at any time for various reasons. Ideally all announced products would be released this Wednesday, all PMDG quality, each at $19.99 (with a $10.00 discount for previous version owners), no patch or service pack needed, high-performing for everybody, and a previously not announced product, free for all the angst and emotional distress caused to anxious flight simmers. Realistic?
  18. Does anybody know if WOAI traffic works with Win 8.1?
  19. Dave, A good area to fly. Suggest visiting San Juan, Puerto Rico. While LatinVFR completes its scenery project for TJSJ, BluePrint Simulations has freeware scenery to tie you over. You could invest in ImagineSim TSJS scenery, but it's a legacy product, making waiting for LatinVFR the better choice... unless you just can't wait. Have fun.
  20. Ryan, Check out http://forum.avsim.net/topic/412272-cannot-take-screen-shots-in-fsx-accel-windows-8-in-full-screen/. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?75071-quot-Unable-to-Capture-Screenshot-quot-Error
  21. Hey Ryan, Are you pressing "v" on your keyboard and the screen shot taken not saved in the "..\Pictures\Flight Simulator X Files" folder?
