  1. You cannot just delete the entry in scenery.cfg, that will cause all sorts of problems. Unfortunately the area number in the message doesn't help since it isn't displayed. You need to look throught the Settings\Scenery Library until you see something containing adak and then either delete the area or edit the area to point to the correct location George
  2. In fact, overall both are at the same resolution, LOD 14, 2.4m/pixel. George
  3. According to TmfViewer, WaffleFlight is mainly at LOD14 with a couple of areas at LOD16. 2012 is mainly at LOD13 with an area of LOD15 So 2012 is at a lower resolution than Wafflelight. George
  4. Is this the 'Royal We' Jon? Why do you think it makes any difference to the Flight team? George
  5. It has nothing to do with powerful systems, the problem is that FSX is a 32bit application with attendant address space restrictions.
  6. You need an [exits] section which specifies the position of the exits relative to the datum. It is unlikely to be a fault in AFX, I have done a similar mod with ADE and it worls fine: George
  7. Why don't you get GMap for Flight? You can interactively see the roads you are flying over.
  8. Hi Nick, I have created an AFD file with parking and taxiways accurate to the satellite images: Unfortunately due to the way FSX draws taxiway centre-lines it was not possible to include them, instead it relies on the setellite ground image. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it on to you as a template for your work. George
  9. I added the image and rotated/scaled it to roughly fit the default AFD file.
  10. It may be possible to use ADE to generate some points to describe the old coastline, but you really need SBuilderX to effect the changes. George
  11. The easiest way for you to do it youself with ADE is to download the airport chart and use it as a background image. A slightly better way would be to create a photographic insert for FSX using FS Earth Tiles and use this as a template with ADE connected to FSX. Both of these methods are shown below: George
  12. I'm sorry Joe, I don't know. All I do know is that Orbx screwed my version and I needed to do a repair. George
  13. The problem is with RoofDescriptions.spb. Many addons mess with this file without understanding the ramifications.
  14. That isn't true. I run on XP and with Custom=1 in Flight.cfg, one can override the settings.
  15. You can change the settings directly in Flight.cfg. Set "Custom=1" in the [Configuration] section. George

    Zoom rate

Hmm, the key repeat is set to maximum.
  17. I have two installations of FSX, one on XP and one on W7. On W7, the zoom rate using <Ctrl> + is very much slower than on XP. Is there any way I can increase the zoom rate? George
  18. There is no point in using the published altitude if it doesn't match the mesh you are using. How will you create the airport flatten? A simple polygon will probably cause even further problems.
  19. It isn't far out of position and, depending on your mesh, the altitude isn't too bad either. With my mesh I would change it to 2230 metres whereas the altitude from the download is 2235 metres. This is a quick and nasty photo-insert in FSX showing its position: George
  20. I think it would take a very long time. The area of the UK is about 244,000 square kilometres.George
  21. I think they just forgot to delete it when they hacked the FSX code.
  22. Why? One can set it in "Settings".
  23. So French Airbuses use altitude in metres? I don't think so.It is a user option in FS9/X
