  1. It's a waste of time. Besides, that was tried already back when Aces got the sack.
  2. Maybe throw a pie in their face?I'm amazed at the stuff getting posted here. I've been "in the hobby" since the early 80's. I'm very thankful that the sim has come as far as it has. I also know that things change over time. With all of the screaming going on here now it is obvious that many here feel that MicroSoft "owes" us something.Guess what? They don't! They seem to have determined that we are indeed a very small group that they are no longer catering to. That sounds harsh, but it's business. I saw this coming months ago reading stuff posted here. Some got it...most did not refusing to think that "we" were no longer a factor. I guess sometimes the truth hurts. In the meantime FSX is working fine for me, and I see it doing so for a long time.
  3. From what I have read in various places it's more like they were forbidden to board, and I think that was planned all along.
  4. Dunno if anyone else got the humor in your title, but I got a good laugh out of it!
  5. What controllers are you using?I have a pair of Saitek quadrants that I have programmed straight from FSX, and all levers work as you would expect.
  6. I'm a freeware developer type, and way at the start of this I stated that it was not hard to figure out that Flight would leave me behind. I also said that I had no problem with that as I had no desire to re-learn anything. I'm quite content with what I can do with FSX.
  7. I wish it were possible, but since it is actually a part of the 3d model it's not something you can add via the aircraft.cfg file. You would need the original model files (the ones from Max, Gmax, FSDS) to do it.
  8. Well, seems to me that there have been very few facts to go on so far. The only real facts you have are what Microsoft has put out, and that has been vaque at best so far. Speculation is rampant because of that, which is no surprise to me at all. When you guys actually load it up and report the truth I will make my decision. In the meantime I'll keep eating the popcorn and watch the show.
  9. I put this one out a while back. It has the modeled light effect, and you can't beat the price! Look for "thorp_t-18.zip" here in the library.
  10. It would be up to the builder, more specifically it would be up to the budget of the builder.
  11. I was simply making an observation about this statement you made..."bashing a product (in this case Flight)".
  12. By chance did you notice you were replying to a thread that is 5 1/2 years old?I clicked on this and a big cloud of dust blew out the back of my computer!
  13. The forum here needs to stay in order to keep all of this stuff in one place. Keeps things clean elsewhere.Besides, it makes it easy for me when I need a humor break!
  14. Well, there are little to no solid facts, which means there are a whole lot of theories! Just stand back and be patient. When/if Flight gets off the ground all will be revealed. Until then I think my magic 8 ball is probably as good at predicting what Flight will be as anything seen here.
  15. Anyone doing that would be in violation of copyright.
  16. Daryl, first off please accept and pass on to the rest of your family my sincere and deepest sympathy and condolences on the loss of your father. He was a wonderful presence in many of the forums pertaining to the hobby over the years, and was always ready to help people whenever he could. He was obviously a wonderful man, and I can only imagine that he must of been a great father. It is said that when you leave this world you are known not for what you had, but for what you did. Your father's legacy in our hobby is one that will last for many years as he provided help to many of us along the way. He will be sorely missed. God Bless,Robert
  17. I doubt that. Freeware took a pretty big hit with FSX due to the complexity that was added along with the expectations of the masses. We are out there, but not in the number you had with FS9. Without even considering the question of things like backward compatibility (which I doubt) when you start requiring some sort of screening process along with yet again being forced to re-learn the new tools (which won't include Gmax or FSDS) you have pretty much killed any desire to do this for free. Too bad considering the fact that the freeware guys had a big hand in furthering the sim in the past.
  18. It seems to me that it might be a good idea to wait and see what Orbx has to say. A little patience now could save a lot of grief later!
  19. What about the pilot? Will Stickman be animated? :( My sources at MS say you will have to buy him as an add-on! :(
  20. I thought it was pretty funny. Some of you guys need to lighten up!
  21. I would go with the boxed SoCal for FSX. I own it and it's great! The best part is that it covers the area I fly around in real life. It's much more of a finished product than those tiles you buy as desired will ever be.
  22. Hmm...I can see your point, but considering that I have been at this from day one on an Apple IIe, and have owned every iteration of the sim that has been put on a store shelf I'm afraid that when you slip like that it's going to haunt you. Truth in advertising is important...to me at least. It remains to be seen if the lesson was learned.
