  1. Dont know if this has been mentioned as there are soo many posts now but Volcanoes and ash- Can Asobo consider using the VAAC data to render some nasty ash conditions and the effects flying through this will have on the aircraft

Re study level aircraft comments- the most important aspect is getting the sim physics accurate so that you don’t have to then fake fuel burn, ground friction, hack the aero package artistically to achieve 1 flight regime at a fixed Mach I am soo excited that it seem like we will be able to populate real world data into the “airfile” and achieve accurate aerodynamic/thrust performance. Really hoping the EPR table has been fixed here also? So when it comes to complex cockpits, leave the systems to the 3rd parties but allowing them to read sim variables only will make life so much easier
  3. For any effects like windshield rain/ice etc, please dont restrict it to the model, link it to the camera view so everyone can benefit
  4. thats not entirely true, well not for me anyway, agreed its very noticeable when you set the wrong zoom level (or use the default) v your actual field of view/distance from screen. There is a formula to get this part right but it does mean you zoom in more which of course reduces the horrible stretch effect LM provided a shader to correct the distortion also

  6. I think for some time even a 10hr flight wont be boring anymore given the new visuals, it certainly was boring in the landclass/billboard cloud world of the past though !
  7. Simply incredible, all of my weather wishes answered! Sad to see that this probably spells the end for some of the 3rd parties who have kept our interest within the platform alive, I hope there is some room for them somewhere within this new market, especially HiFi. indebted to Asobo and Microsoft for what looks to be award winning global software potentially appealing to every human being on earth with a PC or xbox!

Thanks, but that setting only affects the times that the night lighting comes on/off Afterburner, Yes, HDR used, I have the values at the default level, just turned the brightness up to 1.6 and it looks better now but that will probably affect something else. Yes it was LEPA (2100 local 21/06/19) as I have just spent a week there, from the roof of my hotel I was surprised at how bright it was even after the sun had set. In P3D the ambient light drops significantly as the sun angle decreases. Going to play around with TS again as this must be easily solved
  11. Default shaders, the only change I have made is to turn the lights on earlier With the sun this low, there is no way the ground would be that dark
  12. Dear Asobo Please try and develop the aircraft lights so they reflect off of water vapour/clouds/fog please also remove the camera dependencies so that home cockpit builders dont need a panel/vc to get the benefits of the windshield rain effects many thanks
  13. Does anyone else notice how dark the ground gets in P3d (on v 4.5 hf2) when the sun is low? Is there a way to brighten up the terrain/objects by increasing the amount of light pre dusk within the shaders? I have tried with Tshade but find increasing the levels to get a good light level at dusk messes up the midday light level saturation. any help gratefully appreciated!

You can easily decompile the current MS type airfile to find the values used by the designer now, the protection to sensitive information is really protected within the low resolution that the airfile offers. You end up approximating a lot, when I say low resolution I mean mach values which only scale drag at .20 increments etc I have written lots of airfiles over the last few years, and even with access to a myriad of real manufacturer data, its not possible under the current system to just go and type it all in and hey bingo you have a 747. Some of it can be but then you have to compensate for all the flawed values of the sim physics of the current environmental model Hoping the new fsim will fix the science of flight once and for all, but I fear this new aerodynamics package will be more an artistic representation that a transfer of real world coefficients. Happy to stand corrected when its released !

    Yes and the 1 thing which does concern me also is that its all been low and slow, will the engine be able to keep up with groundspeeds of 500-1200ts.... I am sure it will in some shape or form but so far it has been mainly a GA representation

    Have you seen the new weather systems and cloud lighting? pretty significant for most airline simulations, makes the cruise a bit more enjoyable something I feel is very lacking in the legacy fsx/p3d world But FWIW I agree, P3d like all the sims will have a place and hopefully LM will release a v5 which has something else to give

    Perhaps V5 will be the ESP equivalent! Yes I was reading on the train home, this is great news for simmers, looks and sounds so amazing I dont think I want to fire up P3d anymore!!
  18. working ok here, are you using tech update 2.1? https://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/forums/index.php?/topic/53637-rex-environment-force-technical-update-21/ the only issue I am having currently is when the sim loads from scenario at dusk, the sky colour is flashing black and white, advancing the time preview to night and then cancelling solves the issue

    Released 23/09/19, I guess the point I am making is why would the latest beta add 4.5 compatibility updates when AS4 has been compatible with 4.5 since at or around release.

    new beta for AS4 has been released with 4.5 compatibility updates on change log? , perhaps a sign that 4.6 is near With all the excitement that m$ have created, I have to say my interest in P3d is in decline
  22. I think you need to alter AUTOGEN_DRAW_DISTANCE=128000 which is the max number you can have in this setting As has been said though, many users suffer from slow loading patchy drawing of autogen at high settings on uber rigs, so YMMV
