  1. I aint got any satisfaction No autogen buildings, though set high, none in regular view either for that matter Any ideas? using Oculus Link, 2.1GB/s connectivity USB-C to A I tried deleting the prepar3d.cfg to no avail Now I am waiting for a "repair" to finish, and if thats not a go I will reinstall
  2. I got the Quest 64G (as I will not be buying many games) The rift is made by Lenato and not Oculus, with few firmware updates, whereas The quest is updated frequently, so I got that one, besides they did not have the rift in stock at the local store.... I also read online that you no longer need any special USB-C cable, just the one supplied.
  3. Cannot decide for P3dv5 usage: Rift, since it connects directly to the graphics card promises more effects BUT at a lower resolutions that the quest Does using a USB-C cable make the Quest better than the Rift since I can use the power behind my 10th gen CPU ? Comments? Suggestions?
  4. is there a special price if you have the FSX version?
  5. I installed a new WIN 10, found a way to get it to 2004 version, activated my copy .... I think it updates better that way? Did not allow it to install an nVidia driver suggestion but installed the 451.48 later Smooth as goose down, no problems so far knock on feathered wood
  6. I bought the i7-10700K and 32G DDR4, and am happy enough. The improvement is a of a magnitude or more from my oldish i7-4790K / 16G-RAM , even without a new GPU yet (nVidia 1070, waiting for the Ampere 3080Ti ) Its not just the fps, which are OK but not that high.... it's the detail available. I've just landed at KJFK (FSDT, ORBX LC_BASE, ...most sliders full right ) and clocked in 22G RAM usage, no stuttering (26 fps+-), everywhere I look is in focus without delay. There was enroute and on approach where I thought I saw stuttering, nothing is perfect
  7. Or RAM for that matter. Last flight I reached 23G in usage, so if you need to use virtual RAM it will s-s-stutter.. I have 32G DDR4 = smooth-h-h
  8. I've been trying to get the best bang for my bucks and cannot get it all together from the same supplier This must be the pandemic's downwind I would like to have a i9-10900K and an ASUS hero or similar No can do, and keep deliveries within Canada and thus in one delivered package Any ideas/comments?
  9. But was not the Alien supposed to talk to us about ....
  10. I am tired of OCing, would the i9-10900... (NO K)... do as well? heard you can sidestep the lock and increase the 100 bandwidth
  11. RAM is not expensive, you can use more than 16G in V5 .....get 32G RAM
  12. True, and I've even gone so far as to upgrade my RAM to 32G for the sole use of P3D V5 and it has almost stopped the stuttering i was seeing with 16G RAM. The tally is often more than 16G used RAM, and had once reached 23G with a lot of orbx region/airport data
  13. I had to empty 20 G from a folder called webcache found in &*(&*(]\appdata/local/Microsoft/Windows/webcache it will delete history of web sites visited and again once it was called webcache.old om the next startup
  14. I have done all these suggestions and still no airport buildings
  15. guess you have to be an early riser to see those

  18. likely to get better response here https://orbxsystems.com/forum/
  19. thanks for the update I almost bought that toy For now I am enjoying flights with Real Air Duke well set up for V5 install at no extra costs. with ORBX Base and Open LC for NA I am really enjoying V5. ASP3D works fine for me with these short flights, but anything over 220 nm the weather is not reproduced anymore
  20. did you attempt to add the path to the dll on the add-on xml for it in the V5 add-ons folder? Did you try to put the navigraph folder inside the root v5? You can get an xml editor from guru3d (or some other freEware site)
  21. Got them highway lights back by turning off all UTX scenery files, and then renaming the terrain cfg file to terrainoff forcing its rebuild
