  1. p3d5.3? it works but getting vr compositor error and such at times. main issue i have is the annoying pauses as the scenery loads going places--mfs runs 10 times better with 10 times better world rendering. pauses may not be as annoying in 2d simming, but in vr, a pause is a total immersion killer and p3d is bad. if it weren't for the pauses, i can live with it a bit longer (cranking down sliders barely improved the situation).
  2. for each f-whatver driver that says 'it's nothing close to the real f-whatever' there are f-whatever driver that says 'it's a good approximation of the f-whatever on a desktop sim.' of course it's nothing like the real aircraft pulling g's. but avionics modeling is where dcs shines. although dcs' sandbox is limited compared to the world modeled in mfs, recent geographic offerings are pretty well detailed with excellent lighting. and the new clouds that came with 2.7? quite excellent. as for the dcs f16, it goes on sale on a regular basis so it's not really $80, more like $56. is the dcs f16 1.6x better than the f16 being discussed here? would like to see more reviews.
  3. Only issue is nis upconvert at low light situations (dusk, dawn, night) seems to reduce the color depth and see texture banding in clouds etc. for some reason.
  4. works ok in VR with the shader mod here. not getting the waffle iron pattern as with volumetric enabled, which is good, but clouds are not as endearing as one finds in mfs or even dcs. good enough, i guess.

  6. Pitch ladder is conformal to horizon so it is collimated. As for your your other comments here and elsewhere on the crj, they seem to be an deep cry for help... best to visit the support forum and get it sorted out.
  7. 737 will be released when done, don’t understand the all the needless hand wringing and gossiping. Best to Enjoy MSFS in dx11 while waiting for the 737.
  8. you're undercounting the true DOD budget to us taxpayers. if accounting is done per private sector rules, the VA budget of 245B should be added to DOD budget get the true picture of the cost to taxpayers. and why should taxpayers pay guaranteed pension for life with COLA to all military retirees? maybe there is a free market based approach to determining who within the military should get such nice perks: for those who wage war and execute war and are rare in numbers (MOS in the strike fighter, bomber, infantry, undersea, artillery, SF communities, for example) and exclude those who squeaked by 20 years in staff positions in the rear? But in the end, such market based distinctions are probably counterproductive anyway.

  10. i'm getting wicked vc light blinking issue after su6. triggers easily with vr running but can happen in 2d mode as well as shown below. zooming out triggers it in this case. no idea what's going on, all ok before su6. swapped video drivers and in-game gfx settings but nothing helps... don't see it happen on the aerosoft crj, worst on carenado pa34.
  11. i sure hope h145 flies like it's on rails compared to a r44 or b47, just as a fbw airbus doesn't fly like a cessna cub. a modern twin turbine with sas and afcs does not fly like a b47 nor behaves like the fsx dodosim model. the h145's flight model is pretty decent as it stand now, those who knock it are equating instability with fm accuracy. glad Fred was able to transfer his great work on HTR to MFS, it definitely improved the flight characteristics of all those Cera models i had in the past. it was interesting to develop fm profiles for HTR.
  12. how does it run without your vr switched on? super high fps and smooth? what's the rendering resolution in vr? check with fps display in developer mode. what graphics setting in vr mode? all ultra? start low and see if baseline sim is ok, gradually increase graphics settings. and high rendering resolution with high supersampling will definitely affect smoothness. i have similar system but using hp reverb g2 and it's very nice. and i wouldn't set the priority to high.

  15. h145 makes mfs the perfect platform for helicopters with my hard earned cash--right now.
