  1. I would also love to know this, I am tired of forgetting to set the clock just prior to takeoff roll.
  2. Yes Yes The Glide slope (G/S) is ground equipment which is independant to your aircraft. Glide path (G/P) part of the IAN approach uses no external equipment and relies on correct baro settings. I Usually intercept the LOC before hitting APP to arm the G/S. On occasion I have had a IAN approach come up instead when I arm earlier but I clear it and make sure LOC and G/S arm and/or capture instead.
  3. I had this issue, and it didn't matter how much I adjusted my monitor it was always too dark (outside of flight sim too). A few months ago I bought a new monitor and the problem is all fixed.
  4. I am not really sure what you are asking to be honest?
  5. My guess is June 20th at $79 USD. Infact that has been guess (the date) since early-mid last year.
  6. Oh and often the failure will be so minor or obscure you wont even normally notice it without checking the the CDU for active failures. For example I have had bleed air valve stay open on engine one, without switching off the bleed air switch (which normally I never need to do) and watching bleed pressure with the engine running you wouldn't pick it up.
  7. It'll happen. I started by setting 1 event per 10 and service (along with service based) and went waaaaay past 10 hours of flying before I got my first failure. It really is random and even if the odds say it should happen within a period, doesn't mean it will.
  8. Hah nice video and cool RC plane. For a moment there I thought someone had Gran Turismo 5 on around me until I realised it was from your video lol.
  9. You don't erase discontinuties, you just close/overwrite them. Line select [key] the next waypoint (after the discon) which puts it into the scratchpad and overwrite the discontinuity using the appropriate line select key.
  10. This is the same text I have seen copy-pasted many times on many forums many months ago.
  11. Good to hear, look forward to the FS2Crew 777X button version B)
  12. SCREAM! Due to a bunch or circumstances I can't use a voice versions and won't buy it. I am suprised and saddened you're not intending to do a button version (unless you cave) considering when I look at the FS2Crew FSX user map there are a lot of users use the button verison.
  13. Very impressive, I especially can't wait to get stuck into the ECL. Look forward to upcoming techie updates.
  14. Looks great, especially the way the cockpit is developing. Also looks like she has room for some biiiig engines.
  15. Your picture shows you 4.1 miles from the threshold at 1640 RA, you stall out of the sky? When you lost the first engine you probably should have retracted the flaps to 15 (speed allowing) to allow you to glide further before the second engine drops out. You also always have manual reversion when the hydraulics are lost, as most the the NG's flight controls are phyiscally linked, though motion range is much more limited. The rudder you put into standby mode to maintain function. The NG doesn't have a RAT.
  16. Haha, looks like you had fun. As mentioned you put the new destination in the RTE page.
  17. I hate to do this but... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=VOR&l=1 Please read. VOR is a navigation aid. Also, this thread by J van E in the flight forum may help you http://forum.avsim.net/topic/372241-the-big-vor-topic/
  18. I don't use the speedbrakes very often unless ATC holds me up below 10000ft or if I get unexpected tail wind and am using TAI (below 10,000), then the idle descent rate can be horrible. At this point I usually almost level off and dump speed deploy some flaps (max 5 unless on final) and try to get back on path. I use a low CI (usually 15) and if I am above VNAV path and comfortably above the 250/10000 restriction I just use speed intervention and speed the 800 up, no problems getting back on glidepath. So the only time I use speedbrakes is below 10,000ft really and even then it usually isn't for long.
  19. Which is why we don't drink it, at all. We just send it out of the country to those silly enough to drink it
  20. That is the Version 2.0 update it doesn't include the new voices.
  21. Yeah I would like the extra voices for the button version but don't want to buy the whole emergency version just for the voices.
  22. The way FSX handles pushback turns is pretty bad, I demoed GSX mainly for the other ground services and got a pleasant suprise how good and easy the pushbacks are, so I bought it right away. I now put GSX on my list of must haves (along with NGX, fs2crew etc).
  23. Another good quote, relates to many simmers also "For most of the time in the air the computer is actually flying the aircraft, which means Captain and First officer are free to concentrate all their efforts on flying the computer."
