  1. If You do have clearance to taxi, open ATC window and select last ATC option (Turn on Progressive Taxi). If You use DX10 preview, You have to use top down view to see the yellow chevrons
  2. You have DWC mode on? That injects weather globally I guess to keep You with as small amount of wind shifts as possible (plus other pros and some cons).Make sure, You have cloud density set to at least '8', preferably '12' (the last setting in unachievable via GUI, one have to set it it manually in fsx.cfg). I have seen many OVCs recently due to late fall season, I never knew the color of the sky until reaching ~FL250
  3. Damian, it would be great to have wx-influenced values pre-set (rather than 5 on most of them). In REX one can see much better screen for specific bmp file and a briefly description (thus, expected weather condition in which such texture may be found)Also, I'd love to see halo.bmp files variant for Th2Go - right now in full screen (5760x1080) considerable part of the screen is covered by huge lights. My workaround is to overwrite it with halo.bmp created by Mike S. some time ago. But this gives me every time the same textures
  4. I think I can help... Let's open default c172 panel.cfg and scroll down to [Window01]You will find:window_pos=0.756,0.358window_size=0.243,0.641just above next window section.window_pos is the percentage (.756 = 75,6%) from the upper right corner of Your dispaly (I believe that's full screen resolution).Window_size is the percentage (.243 = 24,3%) of its size in accordance to full screen resolution. So, in order to narrow it down by 3 (that's the option for me 3x16x9) we simply divide the width (0.243) by three:window_size=0.081,0.641If You want to have the window in the rightmost side of Your display:window_pos=0.919,0.358(0.919 is 100% width minus 8,1% width)VoilaI guess it is clear enough. If You want to alter ATC window, open default flight, bring it to the full screen, position the window, make the needed size, decrease the width to 1/3 of needed width and save the flight as default or copy/paste the following (from just saved flight to the default one):[Atc_Menu]ScreenUniCoords=1944, 1219, 4303, 3706
  5. That's the point I was thinking of when reading the manual few minutes ago. Thanks for bringing this up. I would see it as setting planned departure in Zulu time on FPL page in AS2012/ASE
  6. I have never used CH, but the Saitek is pretty fine. It is current-hungry (~420mA AFAIK) and have some issues with the LCD display (it blinks a little for some users). Centering force is forcing You to use the trimmer as in real plane.I am using it for approx 1000 simulator hours and have no problems at all (despite LCD blinking, which is barely noticeable here)
  7. You can obtain the info here:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263or herehttp://www.networkworld.com/news/2005/041105-windows-crash.html (more to read, but the language used is more clear to non technical users)Or provide the minidump to the AVSIM community
  8. Have You tried unlug/plug all the MoBo connections (it should be 20pin connector and 4pin connector). Please try to power on without video card, without memory, without drives/optical drives - but not all at once. Does the PSU have any LED status? Does it lit?I was cleaning the tower some time ago and have similar symptoms (like I have not paid my electricity bills). In my case, replacing the Mem sticks from banks 1 & 3 to banks 2 & 4 solved the issue (bank 1 was the reason, I have RMA'ed the MoBo)
  9. Do You have any trace in the Windows Event Viewer?Plus analyze of minidump would be helpful (it is located in Your WindowsMinidump folder.Have You tried reinstalling? UAC is disabled?
  10. PMDG requires their customers to clearly provide Your full name. Please insert this to Your signature, than somebody will definitely help You
  11. Please take a look at Your BIOS settings for USB. I have similar issue with Razer Lycosa. My solution was to enable legacy USB.I do not understand the laptop issue. It is connected via WideFS to FSX and Yoke is connected to it?
  12. Legacy can be the pros and cons...Plus for maintaining compatibility with our current software/hardware (imagine no FSUIPC, no ASE, no EZCA, no MCE.....)Minus with resource-hungry (or CPU hungry to be precise), flawed engineBoth ways will be a challenge for us, virtual pilots and for dev teams
  13. What is Your Sound Card? Some Xonar's Have Smart Volume which reduces some sounds (you can check this in its control panel)
  14. This Yoke is pretty current-hungry (420mA AFAIK). Have You tried powering the hub (it is located at the yoke itself)? Or connecting it to PC via powered USB hub...
  15. You can right click on Tray Icon of MCE and allows it to write recognized commands in upper left corner. Give it a try, it will tell You what was heard. And do the training a lot. I have almost 100% accuracy (almost, because I use PMDGs JS41 which is not a quiet plane)
  16. The v1.17 is one of the 3rd Parties for FSX that You cannot live without, like FSUIPC, REX, ASE. I use it on EVERY flight, I can't imagine using FSX without it. Good to hear it will be free of charge for current users.
  17. That's funny... The reason for not sharp textures was too low anisotropic filtering. So it was not sharp at constant angle (rather than constant distance as I wrote before). If anyone have a lot of blurry textures, please try to increase the filtering level.
  18. Damian, it would be great to have the possibility to choose Sound Device for Weather Reports. It was requested few times already.Keep it comin' - great news You have provided us
  19. Make a copy of CS757 Sound in SimObjectsAirplanesCS757 (do not know the exact name) and drop there QW's sounds, that sould be more or less enough
  20. LNAV/VNAV works pretty well (but don't know if EVERY detail is simulated here). Only glitch found in VNAV and CI greater than ~15-20 will give You overspeed on climbs at every climb-stage provided by default ATC (next FL clearance 200-300ft below currently cleared level), but You can use FLCH or manually control the speed for a second or two.Fuel can be also provided manually in startup. I do this via FSUIPC lever for props mixture lever: full up, full down and voila. QW will not flip the switch for You. I believe You will be able to do it via keyboard (Ctrl + Shift F4/F1 as far as I know)
  21. It would be good idea to post the link for others who will eventually search for this :)
  22. My story with GF and crash when hitting menu? UIAutomationCore.DLL.This is W7 x64? If Yes, please search for UIAutomationCore.DLL from Vista OS. It should have approx 150kB. Just drop it to the FSX root folder and open/close menus for ~15-20 times (my orginal UIAutomationCore crashed after ~15 times accessing the menus).

    Jetman

I assume it is light wake turbulence category :)
  24. Thanks for the tips - I have moved from 1m to 7cm , plus mesh from 10m to 1m but still the same...I will try to produce new fsx.cfg for a quick test, but I don't think it will cure my lights.
  25. Thanks firehawk44 for the clue. Texture res is set to 4096, mesh is set to minimal settings (10 cm AFAIK, far to the left), so this is not the main reason for this glitch. Any other fsx.cfg settings?
