just picked up a 7900x w x670e MB 32gb 6000 cl30 ram. Hopefully can just swap the m2 drives into the new motherboard without having to reinstall everything.

Been to LHBP many many times and have this, I think its pretty dang good. Much better then what DD is pumping out. Frames are acceptable from what ive seen, no major spikes in thread times.

still a joke that you have to go down to TLOD 100 just to get it to not run 10FPS. I will never buy another DD product again this is for sure.

then they should not make sceneries anymore. This is now the 2nd scenery from DD (this and Chicago) that dont work period. Ridiculous.

Coming from a 5900x I debated this endlessly and decided to future proof and decided to get the AM5 7900x vs the 5800x3d. Why? Well I use the PC for other things mainly and going from a 5900x to a 5800x3d would be a noticeable decline in overall system performance although the quick and cheap solution. Yes, in MSFS you will see a big improvement (30% ish)w the 5800x3d vs the 5900x , but only in MSFS. The 7900x closes that gap halfway (+15/20%) and my system performance is increasing even more. When the new 7000 series x3d chips arrive in Q1 I will decide if the jump is big enough vs the 7900x to make the switch. Am5 platform should be around at least for 3gens so no need for a new motherboard or ram anytime soon. The costs are not cheap and I understand intel is a bit better right now but that platform is end of life so whats the point? I just wish AMD boards and the chips should be a little bit cheaper.

id say wait till DD commits to updates to improve performance.

I had to get rid of DD chicago , kills the system to a standstill literally. No other addon does this and its never been resolved by them.

bought this through ini , just tested it w system locked @30fps in 4k. Runs terrible. I also have Kdtw same settings and dont get this massive stutters every 30 seconds. Just watch the frame timer in dev mode and you will see massive purple spike up every 30seconds or so. DD please fix your product! The chico landmarks does the same thing and it was never fixed! Kinda disappointed honestly now thats 2 poorly optimized products.

installed and ran the md82 out of KDTW. no issues at all. 4k everything on high....amazing scenery as its the home hub for travel to and from US.

I have a 5900x and have wanted to pick up the 5800x3d for a few months but everytime I do the thought of the desktop performance declining stops me. There is a huge gap there between the 2 and if I was only using the PC for MSFS I would have switched. I decided to just wait 3 or 4 more months and see what the new 7xxx x3d chips perform vs 5900x and go from there. I refuse to switch to intel, been w Amd since ryzen launched and never looked back due to the platform longevity.

wait for amd 7900xt xtx and see how performance stacks up vs 4080 in msfs. I refuse to pay 1800/2000usd for the 4080 , thats the price here in EU.

did a very quick test and I like the plane on first impressions. EFB is nice too. Performance is great, not sure why people are complaining. I run @30FPS vsynch never a stutter and smooth as butter.

Ive been team red in the CPU market since Am4 came out in 2016 ish. Never had an AMD GPU, did have ATI gpu back in the day and always had driver issues. It would take a lot of convincing for me to pick up an AMD GPU , even if its a bit cheaper then Nvidia. For me its not worth it to have CTDs and driver issues but at least it was cheaper. I hope the drivers play nice w MSFS then I will consider it.

debated picking up the 5800x3d now or waiting for thr 7800x3d/7900x3d in q1. I decided to wait till q1 and upgrade to AM5 then when hopefully prices for motherboards will have also dropped a bit. going from a 5900 to a 5800x3d for me make no sense because everyday usage wise you are going backwards. I can wait 4 or 5 months for the latest and probably best performance.

my fav is the mad dog out of the 3 but leonardo dropped the ball w the overall package and have gone missing for months.

not just taking systems into consideration here. I was the most excited about the md82 but the dev dropped the ball on the overall package (cockpit textures and sounds are a joke ) and radio silence for months is just sad. $90 is a total joke. For 60 PMDG gave the best combo of everything for me and Im not a PMDG fan at all. Fenix has the opportunity to overtake in the future.

as much as it pains me to write this the PMDG is the more complete package minus the missing EFB. I think it comes down to 2 decades of experience vs fenix 1st product. Fenix will close the gap in time.

A Dornier 328 prop/jet would be cool too.

5800x3d, its still the best chip for msfs vs all of them. A 5800x3d is probably 35/40% faster then 5800 in msfs.

I had the CTD 2x after the latest beta update. I turned off HAGS and no CTD on the first attempt.
