  1. It's worth every penny. If you do buy RC4, be sure to download the Meatwater replacement voice packs from the AVSIM library - they are very well done and sound more realistic. I don't like flying without RC4. It interacts well with AI, sounds professional, plus you will not find better support for a product than you will get here. JD and Ronzie are are quick to reply to any issues you might encounter. I used RC in FS9 and I still use it in P3D. Todd
  2. Really excited about this one. Finally a 1900D for FSX/P3D! Todd
  3. I have always used WoAI and have been very happy with it. The fact is, there is going to be pros and cons with any AI product out there. For me, I wanted to populated my airports and skies for realism. I wanted visually appealing models, without taking a huge frame hit. I really don't care if AI aircraft fly real world SD's and STARS or not and I don't care if the flight schedules are up to date or not. Who really looks at real world flight schedules before they jump on FSX/P3D anyway? I'm sure some do, and that's fine. In that case WoAI won't be the right AI package for you. I like that the WoAI installer us easy to use. With just a couple of mouse clicks, all liveries, models, and flight plans of a particular airline package are installed in a matter of seconds. And because I like to tinker, if I want updated liveries for an airline, or adjust how much I see of a particular airline, I can easily do that with WoAI packages using a free AI Flight Planner utility. The only thing I don't like about WoAI is it uses FS9 models, which, while visually quite good in FSX and P3D, will not appear if 'aircraft casts shadows' is activated in the sim. So I fly with shadows turned off. It's a tradeoff for me. At first I didn't like it as much, but now I hardly notice. Lastly, WoAI is free! So I would encourage anyone looking for an AI package to try WoAI first as it doesn't cost you anything. If you don't like it, just uninstall your AI with the WoAI installer. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Todd
  4. No worries, adamant. I was actually responding more to to the individual that suggested you were being picky about your request. There a lot of folks who would like an accurate United Express livery. Todd
  5. This is a cool thread. I had no idea you could do this! Todd
  6. airtran, also realize KCOS is a lot closer to the mountains than KDEN. A lot closer. Todd
  7. No matter your decision, JD, I wish you the best and thank you for changing the way we fly in FS9/FSX/P3D by giving us a comprehensive ATC add-on that is excellent, even by today's standards. I'd still put RC4 up against any of the current competition. Todd
  8. Actually, someone is working on the Republic repaint. Check the Majestic forums. I see nothing crazy about wanting an up to date accurate repaint of a RW operator. Todd
  9. Bob, Push the 'Format' button on the EFIS control panel until you get the plan view on the MFD. Press the 'FPL' button on the CDU so your Flight plan is displayed then press 'next' and 'prev' buttons on the CDU to cycle through the route on the MFD. I hope that answers your question. Todd
  10. Jack, Someone has also posted a link to a complete UNS-1 manual that is very useful and also a very interesting read. Many advanced features of the UNS-1 will be added in the Pro edition, such as entering winds at your waypoints, pilot-created waypoints, etc. Todd
  11. If you are referring to the FMS providing vertical guidance on an LNAV/VNAV or RNP approach, I'm afraid you'll have to do the vertical step-downs 'manually' using the altitude select feature on the FGC. Apparently, that's true in the actual aircraft as well, based on a post by a RW Q400 pilot in the Majestic forums. Do a search in the Majestic forum for 'VNAV approach' and there is a detailed thread on the subject. Todd
  12. I have only used the iFly 737 in FS9 and loved that model. Although the PMDG, from my understanding, has more systems modelled. It really comes down to personal preference as both add-ons are high quality, and both will fly RNP approaches as well as 'virtual precision approaches' where the FMS calculates a glidepath for a non-precision approach (I forget what those approaches are called in the Boeing world). One thing to keep in mind, if you ever plan a move to P3D you cannot legally use the PMDG 737 period, and you'll have to purchase a separate P3D iFly model for $80. Just FYI. Todd
  13. Yessir, and so far it looks suuweeet! I just hope it flies the way it looks. http://airdailyx.blogspot.com/2013/03/work-in-progress-razbam-metroliner.html

  15. I'm just going to second all 3 recommendations. The Feelthere ERJ v2 and EJets series are both winners. I fly the ERJ quite a bit. The QW BAe/Avro series is a great regional jet add-on, too (and it simulates a good amount of systems, so don't let the 'complexity simplified' statement disuade you). They all hand fly beautifully. I'll throw caution into the wind and say Aerosoft/Digital Aviation is continuing work on a CRJ 700/900 package that looks very promising, as indicated by recent screenshots. Release date is anyone's guess, but it won't be any time soon, safe to say. Todd
  16. I actually like the G1000 suite, especially with the FMS-style keypad like in the Citation Mustang. What I don't like nor understand is why they don't allow you to swap out the crappy Carenado G1000 with a 3rd party G1000 like they allow with their GNS 430 and 530 units. I, and many others, own the Mindstar G1000, as it is a darn good G1000 sim that works quite well in 3rd party aircraft, like the MilViz Cessna 310. It also has updateable navdata, something the Carenado G1000 does not have. So, I hope Carenado is reading this: Please talk to the developers at Mindstar and make it happen. If you don't want to create a realistic G1000, fine. But at least make swapping it out for the Mindstar G1000 possible. I bet more people would buy the TBM if they did that. It's a win-win for Carenado in my mind as casual simmers can buy the TBM as is, while more hard core simmers can buy the TBM and have the option substitute a better, more advanced simulation of the G1000 suite. Todd
  17. I don't think you can go wrong with either AS2012 or Opus. I have both but prefer Opus. I also use REX textures since I personally didn't care for AS2012 textures. But you'll also find those that prefer AS2012 textures - I would check screenshots on both developer sited to see which set of textures you like better. I never cared for the REX weather engine because it took forever to load and I always found the weather to be outdated. The good thing with all 3 is they all have very good support, in my experience. What really put Opus over the top for me is the developer really takes user feedback and requests to heart. Plus, Opus has lots of other great features already mentioned. The camera feature with dynamic head movement is a very nice added utility. And as was already mentioned the developer is working on other added features which will be free upgrades to all customers, so you really get a lot for $45. Todd
  18. Patch works fine. I love this airplane. I can't wait for the Pro edition! Todd
  19. A good Saab 340 FSX/P3D would be oh so nice to have next to my Q400. I hope it's on some developer's radar screen. Todd
  20. I'm fine with Carenado not doing a fully functioning G1000 but it would be nice of one could replace the TBM850 'default' G1000 with the Mindstar G1000. The Mindstar version has nearly full functionality, is still a live, fully supported product, and one now has the option to keep the navdata current. As an aside, it works perfectly in the MilViz 310 glass panel version. Todd
  21. Did you post this issue in the Lockheed Martin Prepar3D forums? If not, I highly recommend it. The folks over there are very professional and offer solid technical support. Also, try this thread, last post. Todd
  22. ctec, thanks for the tip. I'll let you know what happens. Todd
  23. +1 This is the perfect family man/working man aircraft we've all been looking for. Not to mention it raises the bar in a lot of areas period.
  24. I decided to bite the bullet and buy this plane and all I can say is WOW. I've got it working in P3D just fine.... but, in my case, if I run P3D in Legacy Mode (as administrator, of course) the Q400 bucks up and down initially, and when I exit P3D, the sim crashes. If I run P3D through SimLauncher (Estonia virtual FSX is disabled) and create a new flight, it runs just fine. Go figure. Todd
