  1. I just did my first long haul Los Angeles (KLAX) - Alice Springs (YBAS) in just a little under 15 hours. Was quite an interesting take off. I derated too far. I used just about every inch of 24L.
  2. Honestly it's the best AUD103.10 I've ever spent. Considering the hours of entertainment I'll get out of it it's better value than a certain 777 simulation I bought for 10 Euro which never made it past 5,000' before I uninstalled it twice! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4
  3. I just committed my AUD103.something. Got download link no worries. Should be ready when I get home from work in 9 hours. Maybe I'll even get time to power it up and do a EZDOK and FSUIPC profile before I go to bed. ^_^ At last the real flying starts Friday. Taking a sickie looks so tempting  but then again my manager just commented on how good my work ethic is I don't really want to ruin it. ^_^
  4. I just keep crash detection off. It seems to be a flaw in FS particular airports always trigger crashes when theres otherwise nothing there. The domestic terminal at YBCS has triggered this since FS2002 with stock scenery. Last time I checked it was still a problem with FSX with ORBX scenery. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4
  5. This alone is a good reason not to buy anything until it's finished.
  6. 1. PFPX ... Loving it so far. I did my first flight with it earlier taking the NGX YBBN-YBTL. Fuel was very close to the predictions and predicted flight time was 1:39. Low and behold my actual flight time was exactly 1:39. Doing a MD-11 Freight run WSSS-VHHH now to see how close that is. I've also done a few 777 flightplans for next weekend. Looking forward to the KLAX-YBAS run. 2. Just Flight Tristar ... I brought on sale for $8 knowing full well that is pretty basic. I probably do the odd run for fun every now and then. Definitely glad I didn't pay $45 for it though. 3. Latin VFR Kingston MKJP ... Nice little Caribbean airport I've only done a single flight in so far 4. Air Hauler ... Started a little airline based out of KNEW. Did a couple of flights isn't really my sort of thing. I have a few #5's that were purchased in the same transaction 5a. Latin VFR Bermuda TXKF ... Nicely done love the approach in. 5b. Latin VFR Key West KEYW ... Nice short runway love taking the 737 in and out. 5c. AES Credits 5d. Aerosoft/29 Palms Skiathios LGSK ... 7. Was the OP only after real life short haul sectors? If so you're basically limited to Air New Zealand and Emirates trans tasman flights. If you want to be creative and fly 777 routes that don't exist there are many combinations Going clockwise in Australia YPDN Darwin NT YBAS Alice Springs NT YBCS Cairns QLD YBTL Townsville QLD YBRK Rockhampton QLD YBBN Brisbane QLD YBCG Gold Coast QLD YSSY Sydney NSW YSCB Canberra ACT YMML Melbourne VIC YMAV Avalon VIC YMHB Hobart TAS YPPH Perth WA Can all take reasonably heavy 777's If you have a light load there are probably a dozen more airports that come into play Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4
  8. Going back a couple of years ago Malaysia Airlines used to fly a 772 on a Sydney-Brisbane sector as part of a Kuala Lumpur-Sydney-Brisbane-Kuala Lumpur routing. However both cities now have dedicated flights to KL so the routing no longer exists. As pointed out before while International Air New Zealand use their 777's on Tasman flights to the big 3 cities with each sector ~3-3.5 hours. Emirates also use the 77W on Sydney-Christchurch and Brisbane-Auckland (Until October) flights. V Australia also used to fly their 77W on Sydney - Nadi which was relatively short
  9. There's the A2A B377 Stratocruiser which is held in high regard. I haven't got it yet seems a bit daunting to learn how to fly. Just Flight also have a Connie. Just flight is generally on the lite side. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    Your age?

As of a week and half ago depending on where your from I can be either - Twenty-Five - Fünfundzwanzig - Vingt-Cinq - Veinticinco - पच्चीस - двадцать пять okay enough showing off without the help of google I only know how to count in English and Deutsch. Or another way to put it. Maybe I'm starting to get too old to play around with planes on the computer. Should I get a life? Maybe later.
  11. As far as I know Flightbeam is the only KPHX option for FSX. I personally recommend it. Even better combined with MSX Phoenix Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2

  13. Initally test flights within North America. As for long haul in no particular order KLAX-YBAS YSSY-KDFW KATL-FAOR OMDB-KPHX KJFK-RJAA EHAM-VIDP EGLL-VHHH WSSS-VNKT and if course LFBO-NZAA. Tried it once with the old Posky A340-200 Didn't have quite enough juice so I had to make a fuel stop in NWWW Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
  14. Sounds very interesting I did a RTW once my routing was YBAS Alice Springs NT AU YBBN Brisbane QL AU YSTW Tamworth NS AU YSSY Sydney NS AU NZQN Queenstown NZ NZCH Christchurch NZ NZAA Auckland NZ KLAX Los Angeles CA US KPHX Phoenix AZ US KIAH Houston TX US KMCO Orlando FL US KATL Atlanta GA US KBWI Baltimore MD US KMHT Manchester NH US EGCC Manchester EN GB EGAC Belfast City NI GB EGKK London Gatwick EN GB EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol NL EDDT Berlin Tegel DE EDSB Karlsruhe DE EDDL Düsseldorf DE EGLL London Heathrow EN GB WSSS Singapore Changi SG WADD Denpasar ID YPDN Darwin NT AU YBAS Alice Springs NT AU I mainly used the 737 NGX but also used the PMDG J41, PMDG 747, Feelthere 737 and Captsinsim 727. I'm looking at doing another RTW this time with Yesteryears aircraft. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
  15. Thank you everyone for your input. I have just purchased RXP GNS 430W and the Milviz Baron. I chose the Baron over the Duke initially because it has a retro feel to the VC and also being an unpressurised aircraft it differentiates it from my existing Turbo Duke. So far I've only done a circuit around YBUD but so far I'm happy with my purchase. Next week I'm leaning towards getting the RV-7 for my single and while I wasn't looking for a fast aircraft (that's what my legacy's for) the A2A's civ mustang looks hard to pass by so I'll probably get that as well. After that I might even get the Duke and Carenado 337.
  16. G'day everyone as the title suggests six months ago after almost ten years of mainly pushing heavy tin around in FS2002, FS9 and FSX I decided to branch out to GA flying as well. I have the Reality XP 530 gauge and intend on purchasing the 430 unit shortly. My current GA fleet consists of Realair Lancair Legacy, Realair Turbo Duke, Carenado Piper PA46T Jetprop, Carenado King Air C90 and Carenado King Air B200. Over the next few weeks I envision purchasing at least another two GA aircraft. The three main attributes I require are; Fully functional VC with 3D gauges, Realistic flight dymanics and Realistic engine simulation. Ideally I would prefer conventional Gauges with RXP integration however I'm also open to G1000 like avionics however they must be well simulated. Basically what I'm looking at is: a) Single Piston. At this stage I'm specifically looking at the Carenado A36 Bonanza not too keen on the Aspen avionics but it's not a deal breaker. Also not sure about the FDE on this one I have heard that Carenado can be hit or miss. Also how's the engine simulated? Their Turboprops seem to use the flawed FSX turboprop model. Being a piston am I correct in assuming there aren't any FSX limitations that may affect engine performance? b) Twin Piston. This is pretty much a two horse race between the Realair Duke and the Milviz Baron. I love my Legacy and Turbo Duke from Realair. In hindsight I should've purchased the combo pack however It seems Simmarket doesn't sell the combo pack so I only got the Turbo version. On the other hand the Milviz Baron looks amazing. I currently don't have any Milviz products however I know they are highly regarded. I intend on using the single piston on short "scenic hops" mainly within the US and AU. The twin will join the Turbo Duke on longer flights between regions. Aside from the above I'm open to any suggestions. If you have any recommendations especially on the aforementioned aircraft I'd like to hear from you. Thank you
  17. A very good decision (Not to take anything away from the AAX). If you're new to that sort of flying I highly recommend frooglesim's three part YouTube tutorial. Regarding the sound set both the stock and TSS sets are very good if you already have both I recommend trying both and see what you prefer. Having said that I also own the Aerosoft Airbus X A320/A321. After SP1.1 it also is a good plane for a completely different type of flying. Enjoy your Diesel 9 Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
  18. - FSPS Sim Physics X (Interferes with a lot of other add ons) - FS2Crew RAAS Pro (Didn't like being edited would cause FSX to crash when changing Transition Alt/Lvl) - ORBX YMML and to a lesser extent YBBN (My fault. I purchased without taking system specs into consideration. I'm lucky to get 4 FPS @YMML. Their smaller airports aren't so bad but I can still run many different Aerosoft Mega Airport, UK2000, FSDT and Flytampa sceneries without any major performance issues.) - Captain Sim 737/757/777. (Went nuts at their 10 Euro sale before I knew any better. The 737 was incredibly buggy, don't even dare touching that PDCS unit. The FDE was way off as well each engine had ~23k lbs of trust when the highest rated 737-200 IRL was around 17,400 lbs. I could take the CS 737 off at 300 kg above MTOW and still hold a 4,000 fpm climb rate well past 10,000' while maintaining 150KIAS I may as well have been flying a fighter. The 757 and 777 both had dodgy engine start characteristics as well as the autopilot not following LNAV/VNAV very well. The 707 wasn't too bad though. - Wilco 737 evo. (Looks even worse then the original. Doesn't always follow LNAV.)
  19. I have quite a range of add on aircraft. In Tier 1 I'd put: - Realair Turbo Duke - FSL Concorde X (That thing is almost too realistic!) - Majestic Q400 - PMDG JS4100 - PMDG 737 NGX - PMDG MD-11 - PMDG 747 - Flight1 ATR72 - Level D 767 (Starting to age but systems simulation is still top notch) - Coolsky/McPhat DC-9 (This is amazing also very fun navigating the "proper way" by Radio Navigation) - Simcheck A300
  20. I can see myself perchasing (Not ordered in anyway) - PFPX (Very neat planning tool) - Flytampa Sydney (Need a decent YSSY) - PMDG 777 - PMDG 747v2 - Aerosoft Airbus X A318/A319 - Aerosoft Airbus X A330 - Aerosoft Twin Otter X Extended - Coolsky/McPhat Fokker 50 (Their Diesel Nine is excellent) - Milviz 737-200 - Enigma 737 second gen
  21. I also have the Ipad version. As Fwerff stated the charts are outdated and by outdated I mean 10+ years is quite common. Some airports are also missing many charts TNCM comes to mind. As I follow real world procedures with the latest Navdata a 10 year old SID chart isn't of much use to me. I originally purchased it as a alternative to printing Navigraph charts after I changed my Navdata subscription to Aerosoft. Now I have gone back using free up to date online services (US and AU) and Navigraph elsewhere. here are a couple of good sites for procedure charts http://www.airnav.com (US) http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/aip.asp (AU) http://www.eurocontrol.int/ (EU) http://www.aip.net.nz (NZ) Airnav and Airservices Australia are excellent both download well into dropbox for ipad viewing. The other two aren't as user friendly.
  22. I would like to request a 737-700 repaint for Our Airline of Nauru as worn by VH-INU. IRL they have two 737-300's based in BNE. I don't mind if it is the winglet model or not. But if it is can we have the tail design continued onto the winglets? Thanks in advance.
  23. I had this happen also on my test flight. Could I ask what weather engine were you using? I was using AS2012. I didn't think about that. I'll try another flight later with weather cleared to see if I experience it again Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
  24. I did a test flight last night KPHX-KLAX. VDEV works very well complying with every speed and altitude constraint on the SEAVU2 arrival SMO transition to Rwy 6L. That annoying accubrake pressure checklist item now works instantaneously without the need to turn on the hydualic pump. The only thing I noticed was during cruise the engines would occasionally spool down for a second before spooling back up. I never experienced this before SP1.1. But overall im very impressed by the update. The AAX will probably see a lot more airtime from me Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
  25. After the 777 release they'll be busy with announced projects ( 737 SP2, 737 and 777 expansions, 747v2 and DC-6) I honestly wouldn't expect any new announements for the next 18 months at least Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
