  1. Japan isn't exactly a "developing country" , never mind the relative cost of labor. Scenery developers need access to imagery, so don't expect someone from china to publish the scenery of some airfield in north Dakota....
  2. Concorde isn't available (yet) on 64 bit platforms, hence it can't be beyond version 3.
  3. THIS!! was a brilliant piece of freeware, little of which was known outside the ex-soviet/ eastern block community. No FMS of sorts but its own tricky navigation system that would keep one busy instead of magenta-watching. If one could port this one over to one of the modern platforms, be it MSFS or P3D it would still be considered as one of the most advanced add ons. As for the RealAir, I don't feel the MSFS' physics/ aerodynamics engine is polished enough to provide the required fidelity at this point in time.
  4. What he said ^^^ If you use p3d I’d strongly consider the fslabs airbus. The fenix is kinda fine for normal procedures, however you’re in for a bit of a surprise if you try to simulate abnormals. Try v1 cuts or single engine operations or unreliable airspeed procedures and you’ll see what I mean. To be fair, I don’t put the blame with fenix. There are fundamental shortcomings with the platform itself.
  5. Or just use a different platform and a different addon that will allow exactly what you're after.
  6. Only if it's related to any platform other than MSFS!
  7. In your dreams! Don't forget this platform has to cater for xbox! Yes and no...It will apply GLOBALY the metar. It's a one step forward - two steps back solution.
  8. Somehow this thread revolves mostly around liveries. I’d like to know more about the plane itself. How does it compare to the pmdg NG? Any innovation it brings? The good? The bad?
  9. You'll find it difficult, if not futile convincing people whose argument is "it's better because it is better".
  10. If you add the right parameter e.g Traffic Controller.exe" -MSFS2020 to the startup, you won't need to select the appropriate version from the drop-down menu. This applies of course to the traffic controller application.
  11. Discord might be ok for answering simple, trivial questions, the answer for which can be given in seconds. If you want to have a deeper discussion or get an answer about something that the vast majority won't know, you'll need to count on luck that your input will actually get timely noticed by the right person before the subject changes into something else as discord is basically a single thread forum..
  12. All current platforms are fairly stable and most CTDs could be attributed to user error or some incompatible addon. My issues with msfs revolve around its flight dynamins/weather combo as well as its being sandboxed so that no 3rd party can correct what's natively wrong. This, however, is a different story altogether.
  13. MSFS is a tightly sandboxed platform. Just like weather, for example, there's little to nothing one can interact with.
  14. Which programs HAVE you seen to deem it arbitrary?
  15. Indeed, why not Carenado? They do have some lovely textures which is mostly what people care about anyway...oh, and an 8k cabin too. Ever wondered why the likes of A2A or majestic are "late to the party"?
  16. Not too long ago I had a session on a cae 7000 xr simulator. Have to say the textures were not that great and it had no simulated cabin!! (imagine that!) Would have never passed the scrutiny of some of the folks here on the MSFS forum....
  17. That’s the point exactly. Msfs is so sandboxed that 3pd are prohibited from making it better.
  18. fenix/pmdg being serious developers opted to do nothing rather than offering a misrepresentation of what a Wx radar really is, just for the sake of putting some colorful bands on the ND. In practical terms, this kind of "radar" is not only useless but may be quite misleading as well.
  19. At this point it's nothing more than just a bunch of letters and some colorful squiggly lines. All the rest is mere speculation based on very little. Once it's out, I guess we'll see what it's really all about and how much it adds to or subtracts off the product.
  20. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. We’ll have to see how it improves on the flight dynamics only when it’s out. Hope this will actually be an improvement unlike the overcooked turbulence model that’s been recently introduced.
