  1. NYC Aviation is reporting that its sources are saying the nosegear hit first, before the maingear. http://www.nycaviation.com/2013/07/southwest-boeing-737-involved-in-nose-gear-incident-at-lga/
  2. Nice, and Boston John makes an appearance on the radio.
  3. The problem was not known before landing. Stay away from the "main-stream" media for your aviation information.
  4. The NTSB did not give the names out. http://www.ntsb.gov/news/2013/130712.html
  5. Absolutely! Tapatalk has been very quick thoughout all this. I use about 95% of the time to access the forums.
  6. Thank you for turning Tapatalk back on.
  7. I agree. I was able to visit subLogic back in 1993. While it was nice to meet everyone the was pictured in the back of subLogic product manuals, it was an office with a bunch of computers and a warehouse with floppy disk production and packaging machines. Visiting subLogic, Stu Moment's house, with the attached hanger and airplanes was a lot more interesting.
  8. See this video regarding levels of automation, including auto-throttle/auto-pilot usage. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/403742-fmc-vnav-set-altitude-for-waypoint/?p=2654923
  9. I found the video that I mentioned above regarding level of automation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3kREPMzMLk
  10. Yes, Porter is an all Q400 airline serving the northeast US and eastern Canada. https://www.flyporter.com/Flights-To?culture=en-US
  11. Ian, Nice SWA paint! I photograghed that aircraft at Oshkosh 2010 and your paint is a great match.
  12. Look for some type of cooling pad. They are not expensive and better than nothing at all. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Description=laptop%20cooling%20pad&Submit=ENE
  13. As mentioned above, keep the level of automation as low as possible for the situation. There is a video somewhere here in the forum of an American Airlines seminar that addresses levels of aircraft automation for the situation. One thing mentioned is that pilots should not go "heads down" and start banging data into the FMC for situations that can be initally addressed by a simplier task. In your situation, get the aircraft going down via a simple MCP input and address the crossing restriction after that.
  14. Tapatalk is working for me. This reply is from it.
  15. I use Tapatalk and it has always been fast.
  16. Here is an article link: http://boeing.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=43&item=2621
  17. Priceless! That is what flying is all about.
  18. Nice video content, but I think I need an airsick bag because of the excessive camera movement.
  19. Here is one that I was asked. See attachment for reference. Why do certain radials have a small zero by their degree value and others do not? In the attachment, this would be 260 and 081 with the small zeroes. My oral exam part was two hours long.
  20. Luis, The double tapping is not working for me today. I am now using Tapatalk, at least it seems to work better than a mobile browser with the current changes.
  21. I am pretty good at identifying Swiss locations, but I cannot figure this one out. Care to share the spot?
