  1. Major point here ! Enhanced environments are exactly what 64-bit (and eventually 128-bit ^_^ ) and faster processors offer. If Lockheed Martin is serious about Improving the SKA (skill, knowledge and attitude) of eventual pilots with this simulation software, addressing the complex dynamics of some extreme weather situations with powerful visual cues is obviously better dealt with on a platform with higher bandwidth. The closer to reality this sim can get will result in better training. 64-bit should be priority one.
  2. Gotta admit the resolution on that pic is stunning. Are you maxing out the sliders ?
  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sox Sox usually refers to either the Boston Red Sox baseball team or the Chicago White Sox baseball team. It is a reference to and a misspelling of socks, which are garments worn on the feet. B)
  4. Orlando... Mickey's runway 35R... What software places the hydro towers in scenery. I've got Orbx global and vector. (there is a feature to show power lines in ftx Global Vector) Do I need to run some calibration tool to make sure all the objects are in their proper place lol Barely avoided a pylon sitting on the left portion of the runway.
  5. Is uninstalling absolutely necessary ?
  6. Makes you wonder, did they lose the manuals while they were building this simulation It's as if they improvised using a screenshot of the instruments as a reference lol
  7. LMAO No soup for you !! A Seinfeld classic LOL. The H850XP is a pretty nice jet, but lacking proper documentation, getting it to work properly feels like you're actually hacking the jet lol
  8. I have the H850XP and it's definitely fun to fly. One critical element involves adjusting the initial fuel load to match your flight length since the simulator (P3D) fills it up 100% at start. If you don't adjust this, it flies like a brick The FMS works with a few bugs, don't buy this if you want to fly it like an Airbus (full auto-flight). I'm refining manual approaches with this bird. Lots of fun island hopping in the Caribbean. I hope they have the following in the next service pack: FMS fixes Shortcut to activate the lift dump spoilers
  9. Good point ! Got improved performance with 40% fuel load (no passengers) and that airplane.cfg replacement 100% fuel load with passengers is like trying to fly a brick LOL
  10. Nice video... Just wondering did you apply a mod to get 2000 ft/m climb rate without losing speed ? At that VS using full thrust I end up stalling. :(
  11. How long does it take to go to 40,000 ft with this bird ?
  12. I remember feeling the heat Good stuff Carenado ! Nice little jet. Wish there was a way to start it cold and dark by default in P3D. Cold and dark is a place that really exposes the work that goes in these simulations. Starting up these babies is 3/4 of the fun for me and the real learning experience value of these sims
  13. Ok so if I'm reading this right the amber lights should always be off (switches to on) unless an engine fails. ? If an engine fails you then turn off the bias switch on the side the engine has failed ?
  14. Hawker 850XP release in short Let's pretend you have a software shop with a fleet of expensive programmers and your accountant tells you that you can't cover payroll next week. To boot, your credit limits are maxed out because you've busted your development budget and schedule for a product that was supposed to be out making money last month Been there, done that lol
  15. Holy Batman ! Thanks Also found this... Rudder Bias System (Figure 4) Two air powered struts are connected between the fuselage and the rudder torque tube quadrant to provide an automatic application of rudder bias to counteract asymmetric thrust caused by failure or malfunction of one engine. The engine bleed air system is interconnected to the struts in such a manner that each engine supplies air to opposing sides of the strut pistons with a solenoid valve installed in each strut. The solenoid valves are normally in the closed position when the RUDDER BIAS selector switches (A and B ) are set to their ON positions. Accidental operation of the switches is prevented by a guard on each switch. Should a leak occur in one supply line to a strut, the resulting loss of air would create an imbalance of forces which would bias the rudder to one side. The rudder bias switches are located in the upper left area of the center control pedestal immediately above the elevator trim mechanical indication. Selecting the RUDDER BIAS switch on the affected side to OFF, equalizes the pressures on both sides of the strut. The strut on the good side then maintains a balance of forces on the rudder. An amber MWS warning, RUDDER BIAS illuminates when either RUDDER BIAS switch (A or B ) is set to the OFF position.
  16. I must be blind B) http://www.pprune.org/biz-jets-ag-flying-ga-etc/403001-hawker-800xp-rudder-bias-checks.html Where are they ? Or is the light supposed to stay on ? (Not implemented) Thanks AIRCRAFT STOPPED AND PARKING BRAKE SET DO NOT PERFORM ON THE RWY. - Both engine computers and rudder bias systems must be operative. - With the thrust levers at idle, check LH and RH thrust reverser ARM annunciators are illuminated. Engine Computer, Rudder Bias ………….........................Checked - Select the engine computers to OFF or OVSPD PROT one at a time while observing engine limitations. Be prepared to select AUTO or to close the HP cock if engine control is lost or any abnormal response is noted. - Check that ENG 1 CMPTER and ENG 2 CMPTER annunciators illuminate. -Advance the RH thrust lever to indicate approximately 80% N2.(If needed, the thrust may be increased to approximately 75% N1) - Select the RUDDER BIAS switches to ON and then OFF in turn;observe that the RH rudder pedal moves forward with each ON selection. - Select both RUDDER BIAS switches to ON, then LH T/R lever to deploy. - Check rudder bias is inhibited, LH UNLCK and REVRS annunciators illuminate. MWS REVERSER annunciator does not illuminate. - LH T/R lever to stow. Check that the rudder bias is felt, LH UNLK and REVRS annunciators are extinguished and the LH ARM annunciator illuminates. - Repeat the above procedure for the LH engine, noting that now the left rudder pedal moves forward with each rudder bias selection. - Select the RUDDER BIAS switches to ON and guarded; observe that the RUDDER BIAS annunciator light extinguishes. - Select the engine computers to AUTO. Observe that the ENG 1 CMPTR and ENG 2 CMPTR annunciators extinguish.
  17. Strange.. I'm running a virus scan on this one... It's bogus... Should have read OP name... lagaffe means goofy :(
  18. Locked and loaded Is this even on their web site yet lol. Thanks
  19. I think their contract with CloudFlare fizzled out. Is this just accesses from Canada ? ORBIX FORUMS... not FORMUS lol You Browser Working Toronto CloudFlare Working www.orbxsystems.com HostError
  20. You could say that reading Rob's posts are concomitant to dictionary use
  21. Is that the same issue where you couldn't have terrain shadows and cloud shadows active at the same time? Artifacts flash on screen if they're both active. ... I'll assume its the same issue
  22. http://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/concomitant Let's hope 2.5 is concomitant with a new nVidia driver that fixes the PAPI lights ...and a concomitant terrain shadow/cloud shadow fix  LOL
  23. That's one heck of a flight plan
  24. Same issue here... I transferred my installation to another drive (from C: to D:... same DIR name) and couldn't get GRIB anymore . Re-installed it to the C: drive and got it back. I figure it has something to do with some registry setting, but I've no time to investigate.
