  1. If you have to, delete your prefs @ drive:\X-Plane 10\Output\preferences
  2. Works on my 770. Assetto Corsa has benefited most, framerate for X-Plane was cut in half.
  3. They probably had to go back and integrate scroll wheel support like their competitors have done.
  4. I love the way you can say "Not knocking anyone's flying style" whilst effectively doing so, I find that mildly amusing. Each to their own.
  5. Indeed, that was my point. Registered users have absolutely nothing to worry about which is why I find it curious that registered users would worry about it at all. How devs make their money only concerns me when a product I've bought is poor, which is why open fora are so useful, to help one formulate an opinion on a product before purchase relying on the experience of others.
  6. I'm sure there are many pirated copies of X-Plane, FSX and P3d floating about also, should these main fora be shut down also? How many pirates might be around doesn't concern me in the slightest, it's simply not my problem. I have more to worry about than that. As you said yourself, "this is up to Avsim to decide" which they have done. I'm sure they are capable of weighing the pros and cons.
  7. More often than not, crashes are caused by plugins. Remove them one at a time and test or remove them all and test then add them until you find the culprit. It could well be your IVAO one.
  8. Not ridiculous at all imo. I use high definition (higher than I've ever seen in FSX/P3d) photoscenery I was able to generate myself with OSM trees, buildings etc. laid on their proper footprint. All free. Orbx simply can't compete with that with their cartoony pretend scenery as far as I'm concerned.
  9. Cool, good to see the HDMesh cover more ground. Forgive the pun
  10. Pete just go to Joystick and Equipment/Nullzone and adjust the stability augmentation until it's right. You better than any of us should be able to find that sweet spot. I'd be interested to see where you thought the perfect point to be just to compare with my own settings.
  11. It was raised in another thread recently that LM must be getting close to the limits of what's possible with the old 32bit code. This would seem to support that theory.
  12. Hi David, that is indeed very odd and certainly not what should happen or what happens for me. Check your mouse batteries maybe?
  13. You can set any view you want by pressing ctrl+numpad 1-9 once you have positioned the view to your liking to save up to 9 views. Then you just have to press the key on the numpad to move to that view as saved. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nTn5m9EO3Yw Never had your second issue so can't help there.
  14. Click Click what 3 or 4 times? If it's the menu you mentioned earlier then it's not a problem that others report or I have ever experienced which leads me to wonder why you do.
  15. Unfortunately it's a plugin that I think is no longer available called BluFX, maybe google will find it though, not sure but MaxFX might have the same feature.
  16. I had that problem too during the beta run. I found that limiting my framerate to 30 with a plugin sorted it out.
  17. That's annoying, I've had it happen though not often. I usually delete the files from the prefs folder which I've found to solve things.
  18. Bear in mind though that a lot can be done to improve on the basic offering with cheap or even free addons. The demo is only a fraction of the story.
  19. I would add SkyMaxxPro to the above. X-Plane has lots to offer once you get used to it not being FSX/P3d, takes a little time to adjust but well worth it.
  20. Interesting thought. Whether that's the case or not today, the time will come when it is as the wiggle room for improvement becomes less and less. It does seem that each iteration contains smaller changes around the edges. Food for thought indeed.
  21. I have the same i5 on air running comfortably at 4.4Ghz. When I initially got it I ran at the stock speed but a friend convinced me that overclocking would do no harm. When I did there was a massive difference in FSX. You should consider it.
  22. Personally I think good hi def photoscenery combined with OSM is far far superior to what Orbx offers. Orbx coming over would only be useful or even doable from an airfields point of view imo. John Venema has said many times that he has no interest in anything other than P3d/FSX so good luck to him. I would hate XP starting to look like the others anyway, I stopped using them in favour of what is imo a much better all around sim.
