I have had AI incur on my approach and been told to go around. They complied with that. What they "ignore" or misinterpret, I am not certain.

No idea. I like VFR hops that I fly by hand the entire way.

I have Steam and the disc version of FSX with no issues. A lot of the FSX add-ons will work with Steam but it's not 100%. The box install goes to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X Steam apps are kept in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common unless you redirect.

So why doesn't everyone have the same error?

I never expected it to know about the fires burning around Los Angeles but lo & behold Active Sky has visibility down to 7 miles with a general haze the entire flight from KSMO to KPOC. Yeah, I know, it is only showing what local ATIS is using but still, compared to the built "real world Jeppesen" updates it is an order of magnitude better.

I do not fly IFR if at all possible. I never fly tubes. I always use A2A aircraft or Accufeel. I go out of my way looking for landmarks. I plan short hops mostly. An hour or so is the longest. KSAN to KLAX for example. Yesterday a bizjet passed within 150 meters of me. A real, "Holy moly" moment. Then a few seonds later the C182 I was in rolled and groaned from the wake. Boring? No.

When you start the program did you right click the icon and then "Run as administrator?"

Heuristic AV is reactionary - when it sees a change to an exe it throws a red flag. No issues with GTN.

Hold the alt key or run the game in a window. There will be a series of tabs at the top and one is 'Add-Ons" Mouse over that and you should see EZDOK Studio - select that. Now you can select what EZDOK will do. You can turn it off completely or you can enable the effects you desire. For myself I use horizon hold which fixes the view when you bank and free look which allows me to look around the aircraft using the arrow keys and my hat switch. If I haven't addressed your need, please be more specific.

What facts? How much money was spent on add-ons for each of the available sims in the last year? Numbers for installed base? The 'facts' are people still spend enough money on FSX for devs to continue to support it. If not they'd stop, right?

Under the addons tab pull up EZDOK Studio. There you can enable or disable whatever you please. I like to enable horizon hold and free look.

Carenado does not fix the little issues like mislabeled switches et cetera. I find each of their aircraft fly on rails. In short, they are gorgeous but lacking in depth or immersion.

I don't think the only issue is money. FSX works for me. Why change?

Sorry to see you go as I an not going to follow. I'll wait a couple iterations and new hardware before changing platforms. Maybe 2020? FSX does what I want.

If you have a good GPS, zoom in. The GTN 750 shows all the taxiways etc.

Dunno about your issue but you need some clouds. ;)

It is not a lack or an excess of traffic. It is that the traffic mimics the radio you tune. Tune a busy FBO and the sky is full. Tune a snooze fest and the skies are empty.
