Pmdg Goes..... Airbus

Featured Replies

Personally if I were a dev, I wouldn't want to make anything that was done so many times simply for the cost factor and chance of selling. Not at least when there are still so many holes to fill of aircraft either not yet modeled or not adequately modeled. I understand PMDG users probably would buy it even if every developer made one and gave it away, but so far I have yet to be disappointed with their choices and like the future line up as well. I'm not saying this just because I'm on this side of the pond either, and even though I know they have contacts with Airbus, I think they have more with Boeing and dollar per hour is probably a little better spent sticking with where your better resources are.

eh, A320? theres the airsimmer, wilco, and now the Aerosoft bus, which mind you will be the best out there once a systems upgrade is released. since all airbus systems are similar, i think PMDG should do a widebody bus. there are much less choices out for that, its pretty much just wilco. (which is not that good)

I am pretty happy overall with the LDS 767, but if PMDG did a version I most certainly would buy it.I really wish they would do an MD-80. I know there is the CoolSky and Maddog version, but I would really like a PMDG version of this a/c.
I do enjoy flying the Level D 76, but a PMDG standard of VC, FMS, and systems would be a must buy for me.I do say the same for the MD-80. I won both the CoolSky and Maddog versions. The Coolsky is alright, the Maddog is very fun to fly, fly it a lot, but it does have some glaring weakness, like the FMS could be better, and the VC is just plain crap. And I really do not like their load manager. A PMDG MD80 would be a must buy for me as well.I already own the PMDG 744, will buy the new 737 NGX, will buy their 777, which only leaves the 767 and MD-80 for my dream hanger. Those are my five favorite planes.

Airbus post from 2008...That's what I call an EPIC bump! haha..Anyways, I'm a Boeing fan, and I'm almost outta nails to bite waiting for the NGX, but an Airbus on PMDG standards would be really great... I had great expectations from airsimmer, even considered a FS9 reinstall, but after all that I read about it, It's a big No for me. Aerosoft.. Ehemm.. Default 320 with new external model.. also a capitalized NO.. Let's hope Flightsim Labs can deliver something good. But I must say, as a proud MD-11 and 747 owner, my Flightsim standards grew up to a whole new level, I just can't fly inferior quality airplanes anymore.

Gents,I for one am with Ryan on this one, the 777 is an amazing aircraft yes. but is it really new territory for simulation? PMDG would have personal goals and achievements they strive for too im sure, do you really think PMDG does this all for the money?Airbus systems are a new challenge i think what Ryan is getting at is PMDG enjoy creating aircraft as much as we enjoy flying them.We would no more want to fly the same old aircraft again and again then PMDG would want to model them. However i could be mistaken on this one this is purely my personal view on personal matters i know nothing of :( Whatever they create is an enjoyment, going into that new territory of turboprops, or perhaps fly by wire? or calculating the math of heat retention in hydraulic fluid :( its why we choose PMDG after all isnt it?-Dan Parker

For sure, developing an Airbus is somehow different than a Boeing aircraft. I was pleased to hear that there will be an Airbus done by PMDG with all their efforts and user-known quality. All Airbus fans got for FSX were imho poorly or half completed aircrafts done by Wilco, Aerosoft and so on. Airsimmer? I believe there's no light on this concerning a development for FSX and there won't be any. Thus, I agree to John who opened this thread!best regards, toby

I would really go for PMDG Airbus Seriously we really need A Realistic Fully detailed airbus..I hope PMDG do an airbusThats's my request!

Between Flight Sim Labs, AirSimmers, Aerosoft, and CLS; do we really need another A320 series aircraft? I do not like airbus aircraft, but I would not mind seeing an A330 or A340 done by PMDG. If PMDG does make the A320, I hope they can simulate the Verticle Stabilizer falling off in mid flight. :( :(
Are these aircraft even considered an 'advanced' simultaion on par with PMDG and Level D? I have the Wilco series for FSX and can tell you, the systems are moderatley simulated and that's being nice.

I second that :(

I admire the technology that goes into Airbus aircraft, but I personally hope PMDG steer clear of the potential minefield of an Airbus sim.If for no other reason than an Airbus sim is always going to be incredibly boring to fly. The FBW flight computers do so much of the heavy lifting that there is really no challenge in flying these aircraft.  If you simulate FBW correctly then you point the stick in the right direction, and the computers do the rest.  The A320/30/40/80 maintains the pitch, the attitude and the bank angle with no input from the pilot until he moves the stick the other way.  That's surely got to be dull for most simmers?  Admittedly most developers have got it so wrong thus far that actually landing an Airbus is more challenging than landing a fully loaded 747 but I think you get my point. If that floats your boat, then fine, but I really don't get it.I'm with Scott, if the 777 is next then let the 787 be the logical successor.CheersRichard Wells

Hey Richard, trust me the A32X is not a boring type to fly :) Once you understand the many FBW laws, 'Normal' 'Direct' Mechanical' 'Flare' etc you find that it's quite a fascinating aircraft. Yes it holds your pitch and Autotrims etc but speak to most real world A3XX drivers and they love it, It's not SOP but you can switch all the computers off if you wanted to.I think most agree that the 777 is the best aircraft to release next, with all the knowledge they have gained from the NGX and the huge demand for a 777 in the community a PMDG777 would get a massive amount of sales.

That along with a full 747-8i simulation. I would faint if saw that :D

AF447. RIP.Eh guys, please keep your silly comments for yourself... :( or shall we start commenting about the BA 777 Auto throttle issue or the 737 cash list ?

too much, too soon....

Shame%20On%20You.gif or shall we start commenting about the BA 777 Auto throttle issue or the 737 cash list ?100% agree with you PAO.Ok, i don't care if PMDG plan to release Airbuses or another Boeing, i will buy them anyway, but and at least for me, PMDG does not automatically mean FBW or glass cockpit, what's about a CV 990 or a DC-8 or even a piston twin like an Aerostar 702P or a turboprop like the MU-2 Marquise,i'm dreaming of those 4 mentioned Aircrafts with stuning VC, PMDG qualityBig%20Grin.gifBig%20Grin.gifBig%20Grin.gif Cheers,
