the GUI is slow for me too,but man,just look at those clouds .I'm going to stall the plane because I'm outside too often.This is really great stuff.just buy it.

I've just made another short test flight. A 737 flying above Frankfurt.For now I'm still using the ActiveSky weather engine until I get to know the new one.What I can say I liked most, was the feeling of realism while passing through clouds, both up and down.Taking into consideration the FS9 limitations, Tim has done it really well.I wish you could add cloud shadows too, Tim, but without them all the graphics is brilliant anyway.I admit I had used the freeware HD clouds before and they were very good. I was a bit afraid if the REX ones can be better. They can.I'm not sure yet about the haze textures though.I found the Sun effects and reflections also very nice. And waters are wonderful, as I mentioned earlier.The GUI is slow, but fortunatelly it is not used all the time. :( Looks like a great product for a great sim!

Maybe a stupid question?! :( :( On flightsimsore.com you can choose from "instant download" and "download with DVD ROM (digital media service)". Can anybody please explain me the latter?Thanks, Wolfgang

Well there are no server issues now! I am downloading at 1.2M/s right now. Looks like the 900 something meg download will take 12 minutes. How did we ever live without broadband! Peaking at 1.3-1.4...Not bad :) Can't wait to get some flights in!!Thanks again Tim,-P

Guess we're taking to scenic route here. Still waiting to complete, only 60 kB/s now. Fingers crossed it don't stop again.So much for broadband indeed.......Maybe next time work with a European server as well?Menno

Folks,Please post what resolutions for clouds you use, 512 or 1024? Also, please include your PC specs. And yes, I confirm that GUO is VERY slow as well as texture compiler. FE used to do that much faster (matter of seconds I guess)PS. I'm also shocked by the quality of the products. If PMDG and LDS change their minds about FS9 support, I guess FSX will never hit my hard-drive.

Yes its take a long time to compile the files, much longer than in FE, and the GUI is very slow.HD clouds, basicly everything is on max in REXq6600 3.4Ghz 8800GT, 4GB RAM.

I'd guess they will burn it on a dvd and send to you?

I also don't like the idea that configurator change FSUIPS settings each time I hit "Save" button. Since I don't use REX WE, there is no need to touch FSUPS settings. I wish it were fixed in coming SP.

I like the look of this product but have a couple of questions..1. My AS6 integrates with GEPro and addes the correct textures according to the weather. Does the weather engine in REX integrate too?2. I have Zinetek Ultimate Water installed. Will these textures get overwritten or can I add them to REX as a profile/backup?3. How do those planes look so detailed in the screenshots, is that anythng to do with REX? My planes never look that detailed, even when at the highest graphics settings?

Keep the shots coming please folks.To be honest I'm massively disappointed by what I've seen so far. Not seen a single shot that looks better to me than my mix and match texture setup that I'm running just now. Some are just shocking!Would love to see some water shots and in particular, some showing the 'new feature' of water reflecting dawn/dusk sky colours if possible please.Still undecided at this point whether to buy or not so any shots at all that can help me are appreciated.

1-2: you can set up which texture will be install, so if you dont want rex clouds or sky or water texture its simple click, you can use it along with AS+GE+FE too or any combination.3. I dont think so, the planes look and feel depends on the add on quality, and repiant quality.
