July 3, 201015 yr I am looking for two large airports close together, and I want to learn how to use the FMC for the MD 11 by PMDG< and the CS757 FMC, and by close together I mean, less than an hour apart, does anyone know of a route that would be short enough for testing what I want to test?
July 3, 201015 yr Manchester to Birmingham, or vice versa. That would be EGCC to EGBB. Weather is currently nice here - blue skies all the way - if you use real world weather and are bothered about ceilings, precipitation, or any of that stuff.Normal departures from Manchester are typically off R23, so that would probably be a Honiley SID from Manchester, which will set you up for a Chase STAR into Birmingham. Both the SID and the STAR use the Honiley VOR, so routing would be a total no-brainer.SID, STAR and Aerodrome charts for all the big UK airports (including the above SID and STARs) are available here: http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index...;Itemid=13.htmlAl Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

July 4, 201015 yr KSEA - KGEG (TO for a reverse flight can be difficult as KGEG's runway isn't all that long and the airport is at 2400' and summer temps can be 90deg +.)KTOL - KORD (this is nice as KTOL has a LONG runway so 'big iron' has no problem with TO).-- D. July 6, 201015 yr I am looking for two large airports close together, and I want to learn how to use the FMC for the MD 11 by PMDG< and the CS757 FMC, and by close together I mean, less than an hour apart, does anyone know of a route that would be short enough for testing what I want to test?Favorite test flight is EGLL > EHAM or EGCC > EHAM or EHAM > EGLL or EHAM > EGCCWhich I do with an 757 only a different one lolCheers,Andr André
July 6, 201015 yr Good topic! These short flights will come in handy for me. I bought the Captain Sim 767-300 base pack in the recent sale and I'm currently trying to master it from a cold start-up, programming the FMC to take-off and landing....quite a task for a newb!I'm OK with the start-up and FMC and taxiing to the runway, but my take-offs leave something to be desired. I end up climbing at an insanely steep angle and then when I try to calm it down I overspeed and explode! I don't think Boeing will be employing me anytime soon! :( Anyhoo, once I get that bit sorted out, these short flights will come in handy to begin work on my approaches and landings.....god help us all!Mark
