Short flight needed

Featured Replies

I am looking for two large airports close together, and I want to learn how to use the FMC for the MD 11 by PMDG< and the CS757 FMC, and by close together I mean, less than an hour apart, does anyone know of a route that would be short enough for testing what I want to test?

Manchester to Birmingham, or vice versa. That would be EGCC to EGBB. Weather is currently nice here - blue skies all the way - if you use real world weather and are bothered about ceilings, precipitation, or any of that stuff.Normal departures from Manchester are typically off R23, so that would probably be a Honiley SID from Manchester, which will set you up for a Chase STAR into Birmingham. Both the SID and the STAR use the Honiley VOR, so routing would be a total no-brainer.SID, STAR and Aerodrome charts for all the big UK airports (including the above SID and STARs) are available here: http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index...;Itemid=13.htmlAl

Good topic! These short flights will come in handy for me. I bought the Captain Sim 767-300 base pack in the recent sale and I'm currently trying to master it from a cold start-up, programming the FMC to take-off and landing....quite a task for a newb!I'm OK with the start-up and FMC and taxiing to the runway, but my take-offs leave something to be desired. I end up climbing at an insanely steep angle and then when I try to calm it down I overspeed and explode! I don't think Boeing will be employing me anytime soon! :( Anyhoo, once I get that bit sorted out, these short flights will come in handy to begin work on my approaches and landings.....god help us all!Mark
