PMDG 737 NGX: PMDG's attitude toward realism

Featured Replies

With the S-turns it is not the aircraft that is the problem. I used to get it on a lot of aircraft by different companies. I finally got a registered version of FSUIPC and limited the amount of wind change allowed in the simulator and it has gone away. I never had ASX either, was doing it with the FSX weather engine.
You mean the winds changing from one side to another? So, for example instanly changing from 180@50 to 360@50? At least with the IVAO engine it's a problem. Don't know about the FSX engine since I don't use it.But I mean the turbulence effects in ASE. I use ASE to get rid of the wind problem, and it works great with other aicraft, but to use the PMDG's I have to disable the turbulence effects.Dion Mollert.

Hello guys,I don't remind having read this question before in this thread, don't kill me if I'm misstaken. Will there be Boeing performance and calculation charts provided with the release of the NGX? I think this was not possible with the MD11 due to copyright reasons or something like that. However I actually missed those charts as they are part of flightplanning...Thx in advance for your answers.Take careMat

Wow! Nice vid! I am also producing a cockpit DVD (soon Bluray) upcomming november this year. 10 legs with B737-800 with advanced procedures on the tape. I suppose this would be a nice suplement to the NGX and make the flying even more interesting after learning some skills from pilots at the 737NG. The film is chronologic documentary focused at real world procedures like fmc setup, flow patterns, checklists, instrument setup logic, non-normal procedures and normal operations of the aircraft. This is a movie of an enthusiast for enthusiasts. Less nature pictures, more instrument pictures. Some pictures from the movie are found here; http://forum.scanair...ead.php?t=73749 - Hope to make people happy! : - )Happy flyingLN%20DYH%20NAV.jpg

Sounds great, looking forward to it!

Im probobly not helping here but Boeing has published their own performance charts online. Due to copyrights and such though I am not sure If I am allowed to post a link.

If THEY have published it, and link is accessible for anyone, then I think You can provide it.

If you are wanting to get tons and tons of pre made MCP's, FMC's, Radio stacks etc,,, etc,,, then you are a GG too and I am guessing that the SDK will be something that will make our sim lives much more entertaining and help companies create newer and better (and hopefully cheaper) hardware and software in the near future.
I've looked at these pre-fab MCPs from time to time and decided it would be cheaper to buy the actual airplane. I'm sure its priced fairly, but it has to be a limited market, and thus, expensive to produce.

Just noticed I missed following the link to the preview pictures when I first read your post but now I checked them out and they look great, really looking forward to the finished DVD so please let us know when it's released!I've flown with Norwegian a couple of times last time this summer from ESSA-LEPA, maybe it was you up-front :( and I'm often at ESSA spotting a/c...lots of Norwegian 737NGs!
I have to ponder Robert, how on earth you are able to:1. be an airline captain2. be a company leader3. be a reno racer4. design these pmdg gems5. address 'the nation' over here all in the 24h days we all seam to live in.I am an airline pilot and find it difficult to combine a secondary hobby with that alone, let alone 4 other occupations, perhaps the days over that side of the pond are simply different? :)how do you do it?? :)On another note: nice going! I was a NG customer from the beginning on and always loved the ever increasing level of immersion, realism and loyalty you guys at pmdg show. Keep it up!GrtzLennyPS: forgot to mention but I suppose n.6 would be: "be husband to wife" ;)
Hi Lenny,I'm very surprised to see you here, :(. A couple of years ago I met Robert and Vin in Paderbron (Germany). I'm sure, knowing you since .... I don't remember how long, you should know it how he can manage all this if you should meet each other including great stories.See you soon.

Flightsimulator is not a simulation, it's a way of life ...

Im going to assume you are referring to my reply... Mike Kendall
Hi Mike, It wasn't directed to you one bit actually and there are a few different posts here as I mentioned and also had a recent email about it as well as had a friend from the forum in my town last week and there was some discussion on the subject. My comments about it being a new thread is just because there are a lot of people that would benefit from it and lots for some to learn.

Just my last thoughts on this. I too think it's priced fairly, to an extent though, but also think that there are a ton of people that are PMDG'ers that if there were an SDK, the shift (or demand) if high enough could produce more competition and hopefully more of a selection, lower prices and things we have yet to see.The saying it takes money to make money is true. If I had the money I could produce an equal to or better FMC than anything I have seen and would still make a huge profit at less than 50% the price others get for theirs.

The throttles shake as a result of tha autopilot making constant adjustments. That being said, we are building a complex dampening system into the NGX in order to eliminate this issue.
Great news... Tounge.gif

Hello! I am really happy to see interest for this documentary. It will be released late in november, maybe the texted version in december. I will try to update all of you when it is completed. I am sure this will be slightly different from other cockpitfilms. In which way, I cannot tell, but promise to entertain really skilled flightsimmers and ATPL students. It is based on norwegian language but the pilots brief everything in english. I am considering texting if someone requests an english texted layer. This is perfect for people who wants to fly the NGX at the border for possibillity to simulate,
That made me just want to jump in the sim and fly..Much like when you go on a holiday and you are at the airport coming home and all you can think about is getting home and pretending you were the one up at the pointy end.dam that vid made me want the NGX bad tho.. that vid will be at more views than justin whats her face by the time im done with it :Dthanks for sharing.
Ha I agree :( I have to say I had a chuckle after hearing about justin!!! NICE!!Big%20Grin.gif
