So how does the PMDG 737NGX compare to...

PS. Thanks, I like this current rig better than any other I've built.I see you have the same, are you using any hacked bios's? I'm using 0001 :)
This is my first rig, I built it only so i could run fsx in high settings. Actually I didn't know there was something called hacked Bios. If you'd like to explain it to me you are more than welcome to send med a PM Dan smile.gif

PMDG have always been the pioneers on pushing FS platforms to the limit,This is why we have come to know and love their products.. I wouldnt be shock when they start telling us the "extra goody features" that most people would be like, "i am excited but not suprised you have put this into the ngx"Alex

I am definitely an "extra goody's" type of user. I was glad to hear the first aid kit didn't use the Tylenol/Acetaminophen stuff and prefer aspirin. Althought the demo doesn't have the defibrillator in the closet, I am looking forward to it!

Are we gona have a proper 'RIGHT SEAT' setting. The co-pilot seat in the MD was good but the 747 isn't very good, the view was forward too much and if you are using track IR then it dows help to have the proper 'view'. Also is there goin to be a wing view from the front like the MD and 744 ?JAMMUR

I didn't know that you could visually see the ice forming on the wings in FS, then again I don't know if I ever looked.
You can only see it in the J41, it's not built in to FS.

Thanks Noah, that was clarified by Anders earlier. I'm going to do a flight shortly to check it out. I only thought the ice model of the JS41 was the windows and have had it turned off due to the artifact issue I get.

Wow Dan, I looked up to you as the go to guy on the PMDG forums. :( Seriously though just be sure you are in icing conditions, and it will form on the wings regardless of weather it is winter/summer. I am sure you know icing is based on the moisture in the air and all that good stuff. It is a pretty nifty effect that I like a lot. For some reason I am fascinated by spinning props so I just was staring out the window one day while flying when I saw the boots get whiter, and whiter till the Icing light came on in the cockpit. Push the anti-ice button on the over head, and the effect is gone! Is a fun little plane. If I am not mistaken it actually does subtract from the wings lift in the sim, but I have never let the wings ice to the point that it would cause a crash... Someone else may be able to answer that one though, but the ice would have to be pretty thick I imagine to disrupt airflow enough to cause complete loss of lift.

Haha, actually, I rarely reply to people when they post avaition specific comments or topics way over my head in "How to" posts for specific aircraft because I am one of the least qualified to answer. As for the icing, I have been dieing to give the JS41 more flight time which has yet to happen, but hopefully soon will. One thing I would LOVE to see modeled, is after I put on prop de-ice and after a minute or two goes by, it would be cool to hear a loud series of sounds simulating ice shards pelting the plane as they break free haha. Not realistic I know, but pretty humorous :(

Actually Robert was saying ice pelting the side of the aircraft was common. That was one of the reasons PMDG decided to do that aircraft is cause that is where his career started from what I gathered on their preview posts. I remember him saying something about ice chunks flying off the propellers into the aircraft, and people would start to worry. I myself have never heard it in person though as the rotors jettison any ice that form outward away from the aircraft body, and any ice flying off the tail rotor only has a chance to hit the rear horizontal stabilator. :(

Dan-You know- that actually is realistic... When the blades shed ice- it hits the kevlar panels on the sides of the fusealge and makes a heck of a racket... it sounds like someone whacking the side of the airplane with strands of beaded rope.We couldn't hear it from the flight deck unless it was REALLY bad... in which case we were usually to busy to notice the sound...

I have (i hope) just had a great idea PMDG could implement. When pushing back, before the plane starts moving If there was like a superimposed line say on the ground showing the path of pushback this would make pushback no longer akward and guess work. And when you changed the distance and angle values maybe in real time that lines path changes. So was this genius or already been done :S

That's a nice idea. Or a way to steer the plane (like if you were the pushback truck) with your joystick. One thing I hope PMDG can do sometime is a "Livery Manager" A lot like Level D's is a good way to do it. It sometimes is annoying to reinstall a pmdg product and all the liveries to reinstall is a bit a pain especially if you forget to back it up along with the aircraft.cfg
Just to be clear here, flood light color choice is not an actual option on the real airplane - it's just something we're including because it was easy to do when we implemented the lighting system. The default will be the accurate real world color, but you'll be able to change it to something else if you like.
Just to be clear here, I am a little disappointed with all this customization. What everyone has failed to notice is that if you are going to be able to change the cockpit lighting then PMDG better model some twelve inch subs underneath the captain and FO's chairs. With that kind of mood lighting cruising at 35000 feet we better be able to listen to some house music as well! Big%20Grin.gif
