So how does the PMDG 737NGX compare to...

Ryan has been imploring me to keep a list of these little details so that we can show them to you at different times in order to demonstrate the depth of simulation in the airplane.
Sounds great! I'm really interested to know what will go unnoticed, will give me a little extra hidden goodness to try and find. Kind of like in real jetliners, pilots only interact so much with the on-board computers, but the amount of calculations they do is phenomenal!

Tamati-Occasionally Dr. Vaos and I will find ourselves spending an entire day researching/discussion/seeking technical input on some micro-detail that will likely go completely unnoticed in the sim. At the end of the day we take comfort in the fact that at least TWO people will know it was done correctly. (That would be Dr. Vaos and me- for those who weren't paying attention. :( )Ryan has been imploring me to keep a list of these little details so that we can show them to you at different times in order to demonstrate the depth of simulation in the airplane. This might be one of those times when we actually listen to him. :(
Sounds awesome the dedication you show (did I just bathe you) hehe. And yes I really believe those little details should be shown. Not so much for my own eagerness but more for your hard work, for lack of a better word that may be unnoticed. Its about TIME!!! we had a aircraft developer ( were there any others ;D ) step up to the plate and take simulation as close to the litteral sense. And it will pay off for everyone.

Robert. This post, and some of the others you've posted recently have made me think of something that could be intresting. A post on the basic lives on the life as a PMDG staff member. For example, do you have an office that you all go too, do you work from home, does the development team work face to face. Little details like this that can give us all an intresting insight into the development of the best fsaddons availble, Without giving away trade secretes of course.

That a simple incredible result! You did fantastic job!

"Hello and welcome to 60min. Tonight, we get an exclusive sneak peak into the head quaters of PMDG. And the story behind the POGO STICK. But first..."Seriously though if PMDG did like a little documentry (sort of like the making of the movies , special edition movie disks have). Would be nice :)

Gents-This post brings a few things to mind that I should inject to the conversation (that aren't directly related to this post- but hey- it made me think of them...):1) Do not post any material in this forum that is subject to copyright by Boeing. If you are posting images or text from a Boeing manual that you bought, it is owned by Boeing. I don't care what airline logo is on it- that information is owned by Boeing. We have some friends at Boeing who watch this forum- and out of respect to those fine folks for the help they are providing us- we will instantly and fatally ban anyone who posts something here that belongs to them...2) Thank you for observing #1 above.3) We have (last time I checked) well more than 35,000 pages of documentation on this airplane. Believe it or not, we are using almost every single one of them. These pages include acceptance checks, trouble shooting guides, technical specifications, engineering documents, enough diagrams to wallpaper the inside of the US Capital Dome, and of course the (usually thin on information) flight manuals... So please lets not play "I know something about the airplane- lets see if I'm smarter than the development team." You'll lose- we promise you. :( 4) Yes- you read the above paragraph correctly- the flight manuals are the least technical of all the documents you can use to develop an airplane... That should give you an idea of the level of depth we are headed. 5) Since we are talking about the spoiler system... that system is 1300 lines of code. It works just like the airplane. :(
What an amazing read this was! Such determination and such unheard of cooperation with Boeing! It's unbelievable, to think, that this this is coming to us on our home computer.!Thank you PMDG!

@PMDGWhen we can fly with the NGX?2010??2011?
*facepalm*its 2010, so not long to waitRobert thanks for your input, i am sure if ryan makes a list we will notice the little things,, if not as you say, things may go missed.Have to ask though, is this from the ngx onwards now, can we expect the same level of detail for the 777, or is this certainly too tiring now! :( Alex

looks very very good..i hope we're getting a kneeboard on the front side of the captain's yoke which displays the up to date information of the loadsheet, sort of like you've done with the j41i hope the throttles will move smoothly instead of spastic i hope the windows won't be perfectly transparent like in the md11 but more like you've done with the j41Keep up the good work! i can't wait for this to come out.Antoine

Aren't these NGX threads supposed to be about the NGX? Not about forum rules or a hundred people asking the same questions over and over again. Then when you want to see if there is an update from PMDG you see page after page of self proclaimed boeing experts and forum moderators. PMDG clearly know what they are doing, if they are putting features in the airplane that most of us won't even notice, do you actually think that they aren't going to add features like the load sheet??Stop asking them so many questions and let them do their thing. If we all have to read through page after page of garbage, so does PMDG and Im sure they get tired of looking at the computer screen after a while. If they have to take an hour out of their day to read these threads and re-answer questions that have been asked over and over again then that is an hour less per day that they do not get to work on the NGX. Im sure they are people too and have families/lives outside of working on a sim. Im not saying stop posting or anything because some of the posts are great, I just don't look at this every day and its no fun to read through three hundred posts just to find out it was all people asking questions about the 777 (let them finish the NGX first) or questions that have already been answered, people trying to enforce the forum rules or people asking questions that a little common sense will answer. Sorry for the rant as my first post on here. Just my opinion of course.Corey Prefontaine

I desperately hope you release around the 12th of any month, because that's the day after my payday. Easier to persuade the wife while the balance is still full. :( BTW 1200 lines of code for the spoiler system? Could you explain what logic is behind it? Or give us a teaser of one of your tecnical behind the scenes type of programming bits that would otherwise go unnoticed?

I think they should make a reality TV show! Something like Jersey Shore/Big Brother. I bet PMDG would have a few interesting charactersbiggrin.gif

You know Robert, not only am I looking forward to the realese, but now I'm looking forward to these minute details. The list you speak of will be a brilliant Post-Release thread.

"The aircraft G-limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular airplane. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no G-limits."

How does GPS landing work? Is it specific airports that supports it or is all supporting it? does FSX work with it or? I'm a bit confused.
