So how does the PMDG 737NGX compare to...

Featured Replies

PMDG knows we will buy this plane no matter what updates they give. And with that being I'm just happy really with whatever is chucked into my face (in terms of updates). So people lets stop all the drama and what not because I know for a fact some people try and start a moral war against these developers. People forget or may not know these guys have the best customer service out. I mean to people out there getting ###### at PMDG in reality your fueling your own misery not them (with the fuel being your anticipation for this beast) . Chow

I've said many times that we will let people know when beta testing has started - it has not. I've also said repeatedly that the manuals are among the last things we do before a product is released.

Let's face it, as long as PMDG doesn't meet any true competition they can and most probably will keep to their marketing methods regardless what we think about them...very simple logic found in all businesses.

The only definitive statement is when ryan says, guys, it is now in betaMy question is, how much[approximations here] time is given for a release date after it is set,for example could the statement of a release date be :its coming out on day/month/ or even shorter where it is "guys the you will be able to download the ngx in 3 days at time?which way are you working it may i ask?

I don't like those comfy chairs in that sim. i also don't like the reflecting ceiling. in all it looks more like a space shuttle this way, back to PMDG's 737NGX: I cannot wait for this to be released .. it's unbearable.but luckily i have found help in therapy which is learning to operare the j41 and md11avhpilot

Well Ryan said that beta testing has not started and the manuals are the last thing done,so I guess it will be next year some time before we see the 737NG.But didn't Robert day the manuals were at the printers 'They haven't? Huh... Okay- I'll call the printer and tell them to stop proofing the files we transmitted. Apparently they aren't the right ones'?Who knows whats going one,we will just have to wait and see. JeffG

Jeff, Robert was being sarcastic with that sentence, I believe :(

yep for some reason that cocpit looks just way to shiny to be realistic...

Sounds fine to me,just wish we had at least a time frame for release not the date but this year or early next year. JeffG

Some of you guys have short memories I think - when the video saying mid 2010 was released, we *did* say here that those dates were just our internal targets, not hard release dates that we would abide by no matter what. There's absolutely no point in releasing by some arbitrary date - all that would do is rush us and give you a buggy product. We are obviously past mid 2010, but we did say that might be likely when we shared those internal targets.

Hi RyanThe mid year release isn't really what we were talking about (with all due respect). Obviously there was a disclaimer placed on it so that if it didn't meet that deadline that people wouldn't have reason to get upset. The one we are referring to is the 'coming in 2010' line on the NGX page. We are now in November which means two months til 2011. Can you say with confidence whether we will see the bird this year. At this point I'm sure internally it's pretty clear either way based on work still to be done. RegardsMike Kendall

I'm hoping there's a 737NG under the tree this Christmas. Of course family would probably kill me when I disappear from the festivities for a day of "flying."Anyhow, in eager anticipation of rolling this bird from the hangar, I'm trying to get some flight plans ready. Can anyone point me to a good spot to find flightplans for airlines like Ryanair. I have used www.flightaware.com in the past for real-time flightplans but they've become a little selective with what they're posting recently. I've been finding that the routing information is now often missing. I know there are some good websites where I can build a route but just wondering a good spot to find routings already prepared. Many thanks,Bruce Campion-Smith

If I could only have a cent for each time a release date comment has been made. The way I see it is you should ALL know by know (after MANY years) where PMDG stands on release dates. IF it doesn't get released in 2010, it's not PMDGs fault you are grumpy about it, its YOURS for not paying attention for the last few years about PMDGs comments on release dates. Come on guys, get with the program. The release date comments are getting extremely old and boring. Sorry to be blunt but its like hearing Bart go "are we there yet, are we there yet" over and over again!Jack C

Like I said before, people get so precious when this line of questioning is asked. Also technically I'm not asking for a release date I just want to know if the comment on the NGX page is accurate. Also if PMDG historically don't set release dates why put 'coming in 2010'? So I disagree with your comments (with respect) I think it's a valid question and point to raise. If release dates are not something they do why the mid year announcement and then an end of year release date? If the anticipated release comments can't be relied upon why any suggestion of when it will be released in the first place? Why not just status instead eg. In progress, alpha testing, beta testing, production. 's FTX webpage just provides status and I think it works fine. Just my 2 cents and I'm sure many will get precious and upset/ frustrated about what I'm saying but the point of a forum is just that....a forum to discuss and present everyone's point of view.Mike Kendall
