A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

Featured Replies

I wrote a long response to the topic. I am sorry for using wrong space for that. No intention to start 2D vs VC debate.Back to topic: It will be interesting to see, how much assistance the HUGS will bring to IMC approaches. This will be very interesting indeed. I am also personally very interested in seeing the Flight Director functionality of the NGX, with regard to guidance during ILS approaches (and also with x-wind).Tero

Dang! I shot a few HUD approaches to 600RVR in a 737-700 sim! It was amazing, as is this!

Well now i am just upset! It looks like I have wasted a large amount of money on other aircraft that I will no longer be able to fly. How dare you make a product so realistic, especially a 737. :( I also had to waste money on a Track IR! What are you guys trying to do, make us feel like we are actually flying a real 737....geesh

Sam-Well played, Sam... Well played. :Applause:Tero-No worries. I saw that we were headed down the road of endless debate over a topic with no right answer- and wanted to nip it in the bud, so to speak. All of us are "right" and just trying to avoid this --> :(

the 777 and the [censored] that will follow it.
Ooo... You're such a tease Robert! that Censored product wouldn't happen to have an 8 in the middle of its name would it?! :( Back to the topic at hand, when I first heard there would ne a HUD/HUGS option in the NGX, i wasn't that excited as I didn't really like them in other add-ons I have.... then I saw the video! :( I love the way when you move your 'head' the image stays in the same place and even disappears when you move outside of the HUD screen... amazing!

One other area we are working on is hull-specific configurations: This will allow VA's to decide how they want specific hull numbers outfitted, and they can give these setups to their pilots... When flying a specific hull number, the pilot will have access to the equipment the VA chose.
Awesome! That for sure adds a lot of realisme to VA flying! :)

Oh Robert....Just as I was getting my breath back after seeing the HUGS you hit us with this:

For example, if you wanted to Honeywell MCP and the analogue standby gauges and no HUD... You can chose those options...If you suddenly change your mind mid flight and decide that it would be nice to have a HUD... presto-clicko-change-o... The HUD is available for you. We've had some requests to set up airline specific configurations that we intend to follow through with- but it hasn't been implemented yet. If you crank the expectation levels up any higher I reckon some people won't be able to stand it: :( this has to be the most longed-for rollout in flight sim history as it is!(Not a complaint, far from it!) :biggrin:Can't wait.....Cheers,Brian

PMDG team, please make sure below topic is addressed in the NGX (for the sake of realism). I do love PMDG products and I want to help you to make it as realistic as possible. Really, not a claim on the previous 737 but a kind advice for the NGX.....LNAV engagement on the groundSwitch light is not extinguishing once TO/GA is engagedhttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/293246-lnav-engagement-on-the-ground/page__view__findpost__p__1811881Marco V.

I think it's great that mv737 want's to help you guys out. I was getting worried that the staff at PMDG did not know what they were doing. With all that work on the HUD i'm sure that there will be issues with the LNAV. :(

Also to mention that the cockpit looks too much like the default ! Obviously alot more clickable buttons and systems. The Aerosoft Airbus X will be hard to beat in Cockpit detail and Sharpness, so will be interesting to see what this brings. Only my opinion.JAMMUR
Ok.. we'll just let this speak for itself as far as clarity and comparisons go....

I can't keep my mouth shut any longer. Mr. Randazzo, I have no idea how you and your team have managed to develop a product such as this. I have never ceased to be astounded by the different things that you or Ryan have mentioned will be implemented. The level of detail is astounding, but what really amazes me is that you can actually do it. There is no one out there who develops with the same realism or depth as PMDG, and I think that makes it so amazing and seemingly impossible, because we have never seen this from a simulation before. I just want to express my gratitude for what your doing. I am expressing gratitude not solely for creating a ultra-realistic 737 for us to fly, but also for the principal of what you're accomplishing. We need more people in this world with the will power and the guts to pioneer new methods, break all barriers or limitations, and completely reset the standard for everyone else developing similar products. This would apply for many fields, not just software development. Imagine what kinds of household products that we could have if more people had the mentality of PMDG. What you have shown in this thread is as amazing as the rest. The most amazing thing is not just the functionality, but that you created a conformal HUD that really works right. Anyway, here concludes my rant. I'm really not attempting to be obsequious (a kiss up), I merely want to express how nice it is to see you doing what you're doing. In reality, you are revolutionaries, at least in the sim world. :smile:I sincerely thank you.

They already are the only one who can reach it, aren't they? I for myself have never seen an addon which combines this good look we've seen in the J41 with such a system depth. Other developers only do one of those things, like Level D with the 767s systems or Aerosoft with the Airbusses look. But PMDG are the only development group who can do both: systems and beautiful cockpitsSo, really congratulations PMDG, you're absolutly the best :( :( :(

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
