Probably would be for the best.

This is highly irresponsible. You CANNOT DO THIS anymore. Even before it was full of risk. There is a reason why pilots carry a 9mm in the cockpit in the US.
I'd like to point out two things:1) Not anyone is allowed in. I've got a friend who works for NASA, and he usually has to show his NASA credentials to be allowed in the jumpseat (When flying internationally of course).2) Most pilots don't carry a firearm. I've got another friend who flies the EMB-120 for SkyWest, and he thinks that allowing any firearms beyond the security checkpoint is the stupidest idea imaginable. I must say, I think you are overestimating the threat Daniel.
Good idea Ryan. Changing frequencies, anyone got their first flights picked out? I was thinking a departure from the field at Renton, a little airwork to get a taste of this puppy and then into Boeing Field. From there, perhaps a "delivery flight" somewhere, depending on the livery. More likely, I'll just get impatient and jump right into service on some SWA route to get a taste of it.Bruce Campion-Smith
I'll be doing a SWA flight. Where to, I have no clue. Probably will be something like LAS-BUF so I have 4 hours to bask in the glory of the VC. And just flip random switches to see what they do. And flip the HUGS up and down about 5,000 times. Then mess with the collimation (the TrackIR will finally be worth it!:()

I think I'll do a flight from KORF to KTPA, I just can't wait till this plane comes out, when PMDG said "Well... The length of time it takes the FMS to complete self testing will change depending on the temperature on the flight deck." I was just simply amazedShocked.gif.

I'm more the BBJ type than the scheduled airline type. So my first flight will be from my home field in Erie, PA (KERI) to some place fun like Gallatin, MT (KBZN) Flight plan will be KERI SURLY J554 CRL J34 BAE J68 DLL J34 DPR J16 RECAP J34 BIL J151 JAPER KBZN so that's 1366 nm with an approximate flying time of about 2:58. And like Joseph, I'll be playing with the HUGS and enjoying the view inside and out.Regards,Jim Parkinson

Hey excellent choice Jim, I live in Bozeman and work line service at Gallatin Field. Also do all of my flying and flight training here. Wonderful place indeed, although very cold these days, looking at 20 below tonight, ICK!

I'll start in a -700. I'll take off from KRNT, do about an hour and a half of trials, then land at KBFI. Then at KBFI I'll shut her down for the night. The next day, (same day in RW) I will take off from KBFI and do some more trials, landing again in KBFI. Three weeks later, (again, same day in RW) I'll switch into my SWA livery (from the Boeing green/unpainted livery which I hope pmdg does) and fly from KBFI to KDAL making the delivery!

PMDG give update roughly for "2010" ok? now we are in 2011 with not an update in my sight! all eye am saying is the VC and HUD, what about the External or written list of what has been updated such as*MCP Fully working and complete*HUD Fully working and complete*VC fully painted and modelled*FMC 75% completeyou get the idea?? ever since eye be using PMDG eye see always push backs on release dates, eye know they are not spectacular but "released in late 2010" etc is what eye mean!Eye have alot of friends on real world and internet that have lost interest in PMDG but then eye have friends that love PMDG!!!! going from "mid 2010" to "late 2010" to "early 2011" to "it will be released when it is released"This is simulation eye for one am not bothered about qualitys - aslonger as it simulates as close as possible to the real aircraft like failures, bird strikes, tire blow outs, body ware from hard landings and mis use of control surfaces such as flaps etc etc, engine hot starts, anti ice and just icing that causes systems to faint! this is what eye think developers miss! the word SIMULATION is getting trned into a very nice looking arcade aircraft and teasing supporters.!Ferd B

I think I will do a rather short flight the first time. From Stockholm Arlanda, ESSA to Växjö/Kronoberg, ESMX with a Scandinavian B736... :D

Quick question: Will you be able to import the fsx default routes (created by tthe default flight planner) into the fmc or does it needs to have a .rte extension like the 747?

I know Ryan has asked for this to be taken off the main forum, but I do have one thing I really, really want to say on this topic. As an Irish man, I know a little bit about these people. It might seem obvious, but terrorists use terror to try to change the behaviour of their victims. By being afraid of them you have let then beat you. And worse then that, by telling other people to be afraid, "just in case", you are doing their work for them. To try and put it in context, more people have died in car crashes in the last two or three days then have been killed by terrorists in the entire history of aviation. The day you believe "security" is more important then freedom is the day you lose both.
So you don't lock your doors at night then to prevent intruders? Just thought I'd ask. If you believe in freedom you wouldn't allow any criminal to change your behavior? So if you knew someone was coming to rob your house you wouldn't DO ANYTHING?Real freedom is the ability to remove the power of criminals and terrorists and tyrants. That is why we have security, armed forces and such as, to enable greater amounts of freedom. And if you didn't realize, since Somalia 1992 when US forces with the UN went to help distribute food (not oil) to the locals, Al Qaeda was there. They were in Sudan too.So the enemy fighting us has been around for a while. And until this 'war' ends, it will be like Israel, where we have to do certain things. No one likes seeing school buses being bombed by homicide bombers. Its all well and good to say more people die by car accidents every day than killed by terrorism, but are you simply justifying terrorism with that remark? Let's not do anything about terrorism because they will win once we do something. No, wrong answer. They will win when they get to do something when we have done nothing. How many will it take for you to establish the principle that we must take steps to ensure aviation safety is a high priority? The FD is for pilots and should be used for that. Unless approval from airlines for passengers (vetted obviously employees or on company business) has been given, then there is no reason why a passenger shouldn't remain in their seats and cabin of chosen class. The Air France flight from Algiers in 1994 is still a good example of what terrorists want to achieve and what we can achieve by taking action. But isn't prevention better than the cure?I would post a link to a video from Mayday/Air Crash Investigations of the Air France episode but not sure that web site is approved (YouT...)?Daniel Mhttp://www.history.a...lia/Somalia.htm

Overestimating the threat?http://www.cathaypac...0000ad21c39____How did I overestimate the threat? Why are groups in Australia and Europe regularly being arrested for with terrorism charges against them? They weren't simply planning a daddy day care for working mums in the friendly skies........Daniel MAll that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke

Which part of change the subject do you people not understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers, Andy.

Let's keep the focus of this thread on the NGX.My first flight will be a 738 in KLM livery, flying from EHAM to LFPG and back again. I fly this route real-life about once a month and have a lot of jumpseat time, so that makes a nice comparison :-)

Hello,I know it is a bit off topic, but after watching some DVD's about flying I noticed that every pilot makes a paper print holding some information about weatherconditions and airport.I know it will not make you a better pilot and it is ofcourse rather useless in FSX but I think it would be very cool if the new NGX had a possibility to make a paperprint (using my printer) with this kind of information.
