November 29, 201015 yr Commercial Member Some upgrades are being performed currently on our server backend. This is affecting things like the support portal and ticket system, J41 activations, and the downloads section of the website. We don't have an ETA at this time for when the upgrades will be complete. Sorry for any inconvenience this might be causing, but it needs to happen in preparation for the NGX release. We'll update this thread when we have more info for you. November 29, 201015 yr Commercial Member Gents-A few additions to Ryan's note above:We have brought on two brand new servers, one of which will be tasked with nothing other than delivering the NGX to you by download. Ryan had a chance to test it tonight and it is faaaaaaaaaaaaaast. :( On a more serious note- the transition of a bunch of operations that were previously on one old server are being distributed between six servers (five owned, one leased) and in spite of the fact that there was a significant amount of pre-planning, and the server techs being well prepared- some inevitable snags appeared- so rather than a 2hr transition, some pieces are taking a few days to resolve.Nearly all of the services being taken off the retiring server have already moved. There are still a few that are affecting customers at this time:Customer Support Portal is down, which means our tech support team is unable to assist anyone. ETA for RTS: Sometime late tonight or during the day Monday.BAe JS4100 Licensing is offline. ETA for RTS: Monday. (This could slide... We know the root problem, but need a specific software engineer from our service provider to resolve it.)When this thread disappears- we are back and running at full operation... Robert S. November 29, 201015 yr Sick! I don't have that fast of internet lol but I hope this increases the speed over 100kbps download for me. I usually download things at 700kbps-1mb on other websites but for PMDG products its about 80kbps.Taylor Oldham
November 29, 201015 yr Last night I wanted to download a 744 livery.. Now I see why it didn't work.Your new server is too fast! I can only download a max of 2Mb per second ;-)Good luck getting all back up and running and thanks for the preparations to keep everyone happy on D-day! Sander Rutte
November 29, 201015 yr Commercial Member Gents-An update as of 0700Z/29NOV10:The Support portal is now back in operation. We are transitioning the mail services to a new location, and this will cause some service disruptions for the PMDG support team, so we may not get caught up on open support tickets until about this time tomorrow. We'll keep you posted... November 29, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hooray, I'll be able to activate my JS4100 again after only 3 days of downtime. You're the best! :(Mike-I'm sorry that we chose this period to run these updates and accidentally trampled on your activation needs. This *should* have been a 2hr outage, but as a result of something unforeseen it is taking significantly longer. I have been working with two engineers since Thursday morning to resolve the issue. (Neither of whom are happy to have been working clear through the holiday weekend... but such is life...)Once we are back online, we'll let you know. Robert S.
