Externalities and the NGX

Doing this as a side job entitles them to work on their own schedule. It does not entitle them to set multiple deadlines and timeframes for their customers, then break them by great periods of time. All I'm asking for on this one boils down to simple honesty. If it's going to be 2 months before you're next update, that's fine. Just be honest and say that, not "very soon", "a couple days", etc.Eric Szczesniak
The problem is that by not doing this as a full job they can't assure you anything. I'm a full time developer and even in the company i work for, they are delays. Maythe they thought the update was going to be ready but something in their live, or their actuals jobs or in the development of the NGX caused the delay, and because the NGXit is not a full time job the delay it is bigger.Anyway, it is my point of view

LOL.gif Gave me a laugh!

A deadline is always a good thing, nearly all people work better and faster on challenges.Benjamin

I am simply just tired of waiting - no offense guys - I know it is complicated. I also upgraded to FSX, Windows 7-64 etc in anticipation for this product. As a result, my old FS9 737NG doesn't work as well as my Wilco 737 product. I no longer have a 737 (will not fly the default MS product) and have had to drop out of VA's waiting for things to come about. I have decided to buy whichever affordable 737NG comes out first that works with FSX. I would like it to be the PMDG, but just do not want to keep waiting and waiting wondering when. Sorry for the two cents, but as a repeat x 7 customer, I just wanted to chime in as well. Good luck!

I'm sure they have internal deadlines, but those are none of our business really... It will come when it comes and in the meantime they are showing us progress when there is progress to show, and boy progress does look good Big%20Grin.gif

This list is getting longer and longer!!! The last update was that video on the PMDG facebook page, which TO ME was showing off the ORBX people flow addon......Not so much the ngx so not really an update at all. This is probably way off, but I think the delays could have something to do with the fact that boeing have given pmdg the spec sheets to use on the Aircraft. In return, it has to be super simulated for boeing to use in their training simulators. I dont know whether boeing have given pmdg spec sheets for their previous aircraft, but I wouldnt think so considering the massive hype about the ngx being modelled directly off the specs. Why would boeing simply give the specs to pmdg without gaining something from it. But pmdg may have purchased the plans I dont know....but I would imagine that would cost quite a bit.....

If you wish to view the photos on Facebook, go to the Facebook page. Please do not take them and repost them here. That defeats the point of us having a Facebook page. tongue.gif

New shots look nice... I have a question about the environment/clouds...Who ever took the shots, i assume that is REX being used... 2 Questions about your REX settings...What clouds are those in within the REX theme? The sunrise/sunset "theme"... What setting is that at in the REX theme manager? Thanks!

Folks,I'll chime in about the jobs comments. I do not work for PMDG full-time (Although I do put in more than a full-time's work into PMDG) but I have a job outside of PMDG in the construction industry. Let me mention this, the construction industry is unpredictable, there are often scheduled dates of completion but RARELY do any of the projects complete on time. This is as a result of several factors that would be out of contractors control, examples are building code challenges, Architect changing plans, complicated than expected jobs and too often, there are major additions that were not factored into the deadlines. A job I'm working at, its a restaurant at the new Vancouver Trade Convention Centre, they were supposed to be open Summer of 2010, that got delayed due to numerous design changes and challenges with the building. A new deadline of October 2010 was set, nope not done yet. 6 weeks ago a new deadline was established as an absolute deadline, March 1st 2011, well its today and guess what? NOT DONE. Now the developer has decided they are not going to set up a new deadline and instead the restaurant will open when it is ready and passed for occupation by the City of Vancouver. Sounds similar? You see, every project we do in construction or within PMDG has its challenges, it may go smoothly, it may not, you never know. Every project is different but let me tell you this. We at PMDG are looking forward to releasing the 737 NGX to all of you! No doubt about it, we are excited and each day brings the NGX closer to release. You won't hear it from me but Robert... All we ask for is patience, it will land at the nearest airports around the world soon, it would be nice to release it today but would you want to fly such a beautiful aircraft and then suddenly find bugs that affect your enjoyability? I think not...The team has sacrificed a lot of their time, especially with families, friends, their spouses - I have sacrificed a lot of my time for many months working on the external model, adding more and more detail to increase the wow factor at the expense of near exhaustion. Vin has worked his tail off on the VC and other tasks, RSR, Dr. EV everybody on the NGX project all have worked extremely hard and continue to do so today. We hope that all of you understand how much time and effort we are putting into the NGX, it is a 110% grounds up new build of the code logic, the modelling techniques and many more. It isn't fair that there are those who criticize us for not releasing when we said we would, it is NOT fun for us to come home from a long day's work outside of PMDG and see all the negative banter. Folks, yes we know how excited you are! Patience is all we ask for, we are working our tails off, its a big push to the finish line right now, it will be worth the wait! you shall see...Until then,
