Externalities and the NGX

Featured Replies

I could not find an answer as to the computer requirement to run the NGX?Thanks
(((Full names in this forum, please!)))
Since the product is not finished, it's a little early to know the requirements for sure. I believe we can expect something along the lines of the requirements for the MD11.
By the end of last year Ryan said that by then the plane was running considerably (not extraordinarily) better than the MD-11, so if your specs are enough to run the MD-11 well, you will, supposedly, have better performances with the NGX.

The exterior model looks great, but the poster does somehow have a valid point. No need to implement real-time radiosity to make it look better. A pre-rendered radiosity-bake is always a plus for game models, or simply some nuanced and subtle paint strokes of dirt and/or shadows.
It was a joke... There are dirt, grease and shadows on the exterior model, we've already covered our bases on the exterior model.Cheers,

Actually you did. NGX is a PMDG specific reference to the NG of 737's, with X added for FSX. Big%20Grin.gif

Btw that article is some of the worst research and writing I've seen in a while...Love this comment at the bottom too:"I landed in PHX yesterday. There was a plane right behind us landing as well, not far behind. I fly frequently. I dont think I've ever seen an airplane land on the same runway my plane was trying to exit off of."

/facepalm

Ryan....the person that wrote that would have loved to have been on a flight I was on a few years ago at DCA. They were using r/w 19 that day. I was sitting on the right-hand side (as a passenger, not the co-pilot....lol), and we were holding short of the active r/w. A plane landed, and we taxied into position the moment he touched down. Then we waited....and waited...and waited. Finally the pilot revved the engine and we turned right, off of the runway. As we were exiting, I saw a plane about 1/2 mile away in the familiar turn to line up with r/w 19. Seems that the guy ahead of us didnt exit the runway in time, and we had to allow the guy behind us to land.Just another typical day at DCA.

I forget the whole rules behind it but it is actually legal to land an aircraft on a runway when there is already an aircraft on the runway. I remember seeing these guidelines in some course I took in the past. I have never actually seen this practice being used but it shocked me to actually see that it could be done. I am not an ATC so I couldn't say 1000% for sure but maybe someone here is an air traffic controller that can confirm this,Jack Colwill

I was surprised to see the new pictures of the NGX with the new airport, I thought PMDG where doing all there pictures with Orbx?

You may be getting confused with LAHSO, that involes intersecting runways not the same runway.Regards
