Jon,We're glad you like the model and yes I did put serious hours into the external model. I've lost track of the hours but I'll tell you this, its not just me, its a team effort. Yes I'm responsible for the NGX exterior model, but I could not have done it with the team's help, Vin's been an excellent mentor (when I'm stuck on something or have questions about the modeling program, he's the one that I bug), Pete has been more than my eyes when it came to creating the masters. He has put a lot of his touches on the textures and of course there's the rest of the team's valuable feedback. So its not just me, its everybody else and I hate to take credit for the exterior model. We went all out on the exterior model and there are lots of details you just have to find!Cheers,
Hey there, I was just wondering how many and who at all is working on that project. I see Jason (external model), Vin (VC), Dr Vaos (panel and gauge programming), RSR (???), but who else? Good to see some more of you on the forum lately. :(sig.gif
This baby is just amazing.Pst...I Was thinking.... Can someone tell us, whats already done? Because from photos it looks like all exterior and interior modeling is done. Then only think that could be delaying release are systems.Or they are just messing with us, plane is already done, but they are hiding it :D
yes it looks pretty but at present it's vapourware; I'll wait until it is software before I pass judgment.

It is a bit arly for a vaportware look at the king of Vaporware that finally become true 12 years later ;) You can be sure that they are doing everything to get it released as soon as possible, as until it get's released basically they don't get back the investment, so if they take their time it is just not up to their standards of quality so well it'll just get release sometime in a near future/

I have always thought that this would be a nice thing to do. It is like you get to 'meet' the people responsible for this wonderful aircraft.

Hi PMDG,I really like how you guys are using payware scenery with your NGX screen shots. I think it is great advertising for the scenery developers and will really help with getting certain companies some exposure that other wise would not. With so many people following the NGX its nice to see you helping out other developers in this hobby, Thumbs up to PMDG again.William Coade

Good catch. Yes, each flag represents the home country of each PMDG team member.

                    PRO-ATCX BETA TEAM

The team is happy to hear the kind words about the exterior model, however we are also sorry to hear that the wings look too "flight simmy" and crap. We've just had a team meeting about the wings and came to a decision. We will spend a year writing a radiosity solution for the FSX render engine. But first we need to spend time hunting down the original ACES team and then we have to charge $200 more per unit to pay for the FSX source code.
The exterior model looks great, but the poster does somehow have a valid point. No need to implement real-time radiosity to make it look better. A pre-rendered radiosity-bake is always a plus for game models, or simply some nuanced and subtle paint strokes of dirt and/or shadows.

I could not find an answer as to the computer requirement to run the NGX?Thanks

Since the product is not finished, it's a little early to know the definitive requirements. I believe we can expect something along the lines of the requirements for the MD11.
