February 27, 201115 yr Huh? I've always appreciated a crisp clean VC with 3d gauges - looks much better than Carenado's... even their 340Opinion I guess :(If we were just talking about gauges only of course I'd go with realair, but their VC's are so sterile and plasticky looking compared to Carenado's. That's my biggest gripe with realair. Their flight dynamics and sound are amazing, as are the gauges, but the textures and materials they use for their models look like gloss plastic and have little to no detail.Opinions... we all have em! You know how the rest goes... :( Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
February 27, 201115 yr There must be something odd in your setup. My fuel flows definitely change based on mixture in the 340 and in the Bonanza - the two Carenado birds I've flown most recently.Hi Bill. I tried using the CNTL_SHIFT_F2 and I can see the mixture levers coming back but fuel flow and egt remains the same. I do have the latest SP installed.EDIT. Sorry Bill. Its a recent FSX reinstall and I had automixture in the FSX settings enabled. Works fine now. Thanks for letting me know this feature works though!
February 27, 201115 yr David Maltby's Trident (free)http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/hs121_trident.htm How does that work in FSX?And about Carenado. Yes, they have released some products that were not ready (or so it seemed to be), but on the other hand, how much we would miss from the FSX world without Carenado! Think about us bush pilots without C185, C206 etc...
February 27, 201115 yr Why does a post about whether company A is possibly releasing a new aircraft quickly turn into a post about company A versus company B?
February 27, 201115 yr Author To be fair to them, finding someone who owns and flies a Cessna 340 and is willing to test their product may be somewhat difficult.Carenado stated that the C340 was tested by C340 pilots - as they have also done with numerous other releases. I just wonder what worth that statement has any longer. The Seneca, Caravan and C340 all had odd behavior out of the box. Don't get me wrong, this is one company I really want to see succeeding and flourishing. Problem is, I think they are already doing that, which is exactly why they are not particularly concerned about this aspect of the product. Carenado + Realair Simulation ....what amazing children they would make. Carenado's amazingly good looks and Realair's logic, intellect and fine tuned athletic ability. :(

IMHO a very bad business practice. That is why realair / PMDG etc are good reputable names as 99% of released products works 99% as designed.

Watch the whole video to see what I am talking about..! instrument panel and interior is just immaculatehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnf8_OZs5rQ&feature=player_embedded

You know how the rest goes... :(I agree totally with regard to the RealAir Virtual Cockpits. A little bit too clean and shiny compared to real life. I flew an ex-military SF-260 from Denham last weekend and the cockpit was as you'd expect..scuff marks here and there and obvious wear on the instrument panel binnacle and seats. HOWEVER Realair make up for their somewhat clinical looking VC's with superb detailing on the exterior modelling and the most realistic flight dynamics available for FSX/FS2004 so long may they reign.A combo of a Carenado VC and RealAir flight dynamics would make one awesome aeroplane :( Chillblast Core i5 14600KF Liquid Cooled RTX 4070 SUPER 32GB RAM. B60's 90% privately owned and private owners look after their stuff..Cessna's 172/185/206 and 260's etc normally company owned and renters dont give a damn about treatment. The planes that was used to model for realair is 99% private owned, so I have a feeling that is why they their cockpits look so immaculate. Private owners take pride in their aeroplanes

BTW, Carenado hired an excellent FDE guy for their FSX planes to be released after the Baron and the Commander :)
February 27, 201115 yr BTW, Carenado hired an excellent FDE guy for their FSX planes to be released after the Baron and the Commander :)There's the important word. First of all, praises to all the fans which had been working on e. g. the C185 to tune the FDE. You guys (speaking in general) really offer some improvement there and your efforts hopefully get recognized. From bstolle's sentence (and new status) one can read that Carenado took the right step, improving their stuff where it offers the largest potential. Optics always were fine, but the FDE sometimes drove the people nuts and didn't represent the plane's character one could see on the screen. So lets hope for some releases were it doesn't take two service packs (and complains from the customers) or so to enable some nice plane.

Airplanes is not excluded how much you say that good airmanship is pass and parcel of proper conduct..!
