April 2, 201115 yr
After playing around all week with Inspector settings, A few guys from the VA came up with these settings.

Again if you do change your settings marked the old ones down, this way you can go back to your old settings if these dont work for you! We also have AA selected in FSX!!!

Richard, I think that "treat override... as enhanced..." is keeping the driver from actually running 4v12 AA. That way you are only enhancing what FSX predefines for AA. I'm not sure though so somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think flags should be set to "none" for the mode to override FSX's flags and efectively run 4v12. Anyway, I will try your settings later and thanks for sharing

September 27, 201114 yr Hi guys i just recently got into this whole PC simulation stuff: I am currently working on my real instrument and commercial rating and very found into aviation. Earned up for quite a while now and actually built well assisted in building my own PC Haha don't get me wrong guys but I might have a really good computer but cant do quite a lot whit specially when it comes to tuning or tweaking it. I have right now the ati radeon xfx 5970 black edition 2 gb video card and 18 gb ram at 1600 as well as i7 760 or something like that i think. But for some reason i get a little bit of lag on my video. Iam running windows 7 on SSD as well as FSX on SSD got myself a coolermaster v10 but wasn't sure on doing an OC for that same reason i just got my self a corsair water cooler H60 so lets just say I am ready to OC that is if you guys help me out. :D Thank you and sorry if i get on your nerves xD

September 27, 201114 yr this is awesome, running pretty well on my 560 TI. What does the 4x supersampling do? Any performance lost with this setting? Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering

September 27, 201114 yr I have a new i5-2500k (unclocked) system with a 580 GTX and this setting is incredible. It works perfectly in Windows mode (haven't tried Full Screen), there is no sound coming from the case, the shimmering clouds have been reduced by about 80% and the graphics are absolutely fantastic. I'm using unlimited frame rates which are 75-100+. I have only tried Clear Skies and Fair Weather so far, but without question this is the best thing I have ever tried in FSX. The popping autogen is the only annoying thing left. I am very impressed so far! Thanks for the tip!!
September 28, 201114 yr I run 8sq and 16 anisio and can see no difference whatsoever except my 570 got a migraine. Bob Officially retired
September 28, 201114 yr humm ,,, interesting, I'm moving from 3x22" to 42" plasma, wonder how it"s gonna looks like with this setting Yair
September 28, 201114 yr OK, let's move this one to the Hardware forum :--) - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
September 30, 201114 yr I had some doubts. But ... all I can say after trying this setting is "WOW". The improved visual clarity, colors, and shading is amazing. This was the find of the year for me. It's made FSX just about photo-realistic and even a bit smoother. Right now for me it doesn't get any better. -- tazz
September 30, 201114 yr ++1 ..... so fare, so good had about 1 hour night flight and it looks great, I'll keep testing over the weekend. CheerYair
November 21, 201114 yr I have just tried this setting on my new i5 2500k PC, and I am extremely impressed. I was having some trouble with shimmering under certain conditions, and then I remembered this thread (which was started when I was still using my old Q9550 powered system). So, I decided to note the shimmering effect when approaching a particular airfield using the standard 16xS AA mode, and then switched to the SUPERVCAA_64X_4v12 mode.Well, what a difference! Whilst it doesn't completely eliminate shimmering (eg. certain wooden fences in low sunlight can still be a bit of a problem), it is a significant improvement, and effectively solves the problem for me. Considering some of the responses in this thread regarding a hard hit on framerates, I was expecting this to be obvious, but that is not the case. In fact, I am not sure if I am seeing any noticeable reduction in framerates at all. It seems to be just as smooth as it was with 16xS.In short.....if you have a powerful PC, give this AA mode a try. It is definitely worth the effort. November 21, 201114 yr Under heavy cloud conditions, this setting can by hurtful on frames. In fair weather, I get no performance hit at all. Dave Creed
