April 24, 201115 yr Guys how long has this taken, to be honest i do not remember the time ,but i always wanted to upgrade my system so that i was ready when it released, it started with i5, then i7, then i5k,now i7 2600k, gtx 570,gtx 580 and now i am glad it is 590,i was always scared that ngx would beat me to it,but my system is still not ready and so is ngx, finally everything is ready except my gtx 590 which is supposed to be coming next week,i would need a couple of days to install all the components of fsx,and will finally be waiting patiently for ngx,i am not glad i beat them to the finish line, one positive thing is i will be ready for them to release ngxdid not want to waste money on gtx 590 as it sells for 866 us dollars in india ,but i am fed up of upgrading my system which keeps happening every three tears so thought might as well put in the most advanced till date ,all this including a 3d monitor has costed me 3800 us dollars,so i hope it is worth the effortvivekOh dear. Are you saying you purchased multiple systems for NGX only to upgrade because it hadn't released. Or that your build spec plan keep changing. Ummm while 590 obviously pretty beast IMO will probably perform same as say GTX 570 in NGX. And because 590 essentially 2 GPU's hugging (sli) performance in FSX may actually drop. Although the use of 3D and how NGX handles GPU could prove me wrong. Oh and sli 570 beats 590 and around $300 cheaper (AU anyway). But still tank system and nice CPU. As long as you OC it.

As long as you OC it.Well, in this case it's 3 monitors, so if it's to run a single view spanned through all 3 screens in a huge resolution, SLI is needed. It's still much cheaper to get 2 GTX560: performance is about the same as a GTX590... and the GTX560's can be overclocked unlike the 590

Seeing as SLI needed for 3 way thingy. But actually that question doesn't matter because dual 560's or 70's should be the decision you really face. I would presonally go OC'd 570's but watevs. Extra 200-300mb VRAM per card would help in higher res.

I have no idea how much better can 2x570 be in FSX than 2x560 to be honest. Maybe you're right, FSX takes up quite a lot of VRAM sometimes with high AA even on a single screen, let alone 3. The 560 SLI was more of a perf comparison against the 590 than a real suggestion. Got no experience with SLI in FSX or anything else

April 24, 201115 yr Don't eat too many easter eggs, or the cockpit will be smelly! :( I did eat three this morning and my md11 copilot hasn't shown up for my virtual flight from ltba to eham. Martin Pampiermole
April 24, 201115 yr Flying around in the Kulula "Flying 101" 800WL right now... this is pretty much the best livery ever haha. Pete nailed it!haha nice! I was hoping for this one as kinda of a joke when friends come over and start questioning whether or not I know what I'm doing since it's "only" a PC simulation. "Only", well flight simulator has become more than just a home PC flight simulator. It's more like an advanced CBT if you will!Btw. Really enjoying my Chief Pilot set as an addition to some of my ATPL books Thomas Danielsen - FAA Commercial Pilot, JAA ATPL

The "101" is flying daily over my house when on final for rwy06 at Lanseria (FALA). Been on her a couple of times flying Lanseria - Cape Town, very nice livery, indeed! Good to know that there will be liveries of smaller carriers as well! Thanks! Norbert Plate
April 24, 201115 yr This is a good post - there's a TON of very good games and FS addons that have come out recently. Go play Portal 2 on Steam, go learn DCS A-10C, get the Real Air Turbine Duke or go explore the Orbx PNW regions with a bush plane. There's a ton of things to do right now other than complaining about our development process.Sooo right - I just downloaded the Katana from Aerosoft so off to do some walkaround checks, top up the oils and cleaning before flying it. Seems that this is a new idea to have a plane that will deteriorate with use and go wrong with bad flying and landing... well, with me it WILL be bad flying LOL.I think with that and my motorbike I'll have my hands full and wallet empty lol so hold off on the release please........... All the best guys and gals on the team.John Ellison
