Sorry .. but thats sesame street logic. Ok, you need 4,500$ to obtain your license. You need hrs to commit to a real life flight, You will probably fly hundreds of hours in your 60$ plane. 100 hr in 60$ plane = 60$ and 12,000$ in your 120$/hr plane)_
Those real hours that you "have to make time for," get you a pilot certificate while those flightsim hours gets you.........exactly...... Nothing. Some people spend enough money for a private cert along with an fir rating on add ons and computers. These people are the same people who complain that they don't have time nor moneynto fly for real. BOGUS I say! Now if you can't hold a medical....then it's understandable because you can't fly with out a medical and if flightsim gives you your fancy then I think that that is more than awesome and an awesome reason to spend money on add ons and computer stuff.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

Hit the nail on the head!I could argue it's "Sesame Street Logic" that I would spend $60 on a payware aircraft which makes me a half hour of flight time farther from my career goal. To each their own!

First thing I thought is why is it in mono :( Why a february release I wonder? Are there U.S. gift orriented holidays around this time?I take it all with a big grain of salt but it certainly sounds promising. So glad to hear GA flying will be improved, low and slow baby! Better physics, well we can only hope. As for the store, it sounds good in theory, hopefully they can put a big dint in the piracy. All good, can't wait.:(

Geez Alain, you come across to me as pretty annoying, even if you only appear to be right :( B) I hope you will also share your thoughts with us if you appear to be wrong about something! :( :(

Why should we believe a word of what was said in the video?

Gerry Howard

He has no more inside information than the rest of us.
Just because something is not officially announced does not mean it is not in the planning to be so. And let's be honest, it's just info about a game release date - not a breach of national security. So what if he knows more than we do ? On balance, someone, somewhere, - will.(although, I think feb, 2012 sounded ambitious)

You are assuming that all flight simmers would prefer to be real world pilots. That's one hell of an assumption.

I understand, it's human nature....:( Let me explaine human nature, long time ago peoples saw a man walking on water, half of them praised him :( , the other half said.......the man can't swim....B) I will also share my thoughts with you if I'm wrong, I said that MS will throw a little something at us FSX users when Flight is released, on that I may be wrong, we will have to wait and see.

No one is saying is video is a bad thing .. just saying that if you piece together all the opinions in our forum... we could make the same video.......and none of us have an inside conduit of info from MS regarding Flight.ps .. i will make my equivalent video, and state summer 2012 ... could you agree with that date? :(

Taking a dump, smoking a cigarette, kissing your wife, going to work, etc, .. all these things are time spent on life that takes you away from your career aviation goal as well .... so why, pick on a computer game only?
and none of us have an inside conduit of info from MS regarding Flight.
Because you don't nobody else could? Really?Of course you can take all opinion shared on this site and build something out of it, we can say "This guy was right on this and this guy was right on that" so all together all of us were right on something....is that how it works? So when somebody hit the nail on the head several times what happen, is it because he pulled everything out of his a$s or he's just plain lucky, anything else is out of reach....why...human nature again?
1st Question - Has Microsoft Flight been designed completely from the ground up or does it include elements from FSX? Microsoft.....we're building from the ground up focusing on the "purist" simmer as well as a larger range of people with varied interests in aviation....we will take advantage of the expertise and existing elements of the existing FS code base and architecture where it fits.......after 30 years of evolving the same code base, it's time for a fresh look! Here is the important part, (I read taking advantage of FSX and building around it)... we will take advantage of the expertise and existing elements of the existing FS code base and architecture where it fits.......
So far, I see no evidence that Flight has been developed from the "ground up". Ground up implies that one starts with new data structures that allow information that the old ones did not. This new information will then show up visually or in the feeling of flight.Looking at the released information, most people's first impression was that Flight is FSX with add-on quality improvements. Upon closer examination, we can see that there are new features that may not be possible to implement in FSX.Still, I am not seeing anything that cannot be accomplished with some new textures, and a few extra steps in the rendering pipeline - or by properly implementing DX10 functionality. What we are seeing though, is a number of similarities to FSX, right down to issues people have had with it. This clearly points to a far bigger reuse of the FSX code than the above quote would have us believe.Perhaps the ground up development is done on things that we have not seen yet, but that only leaves the flight model, the user interface and whatever the on-line stuff is all about.Unfortunately, from info we are getting, ATC and weather are low on the list of improvements, if they are on the list at all.

Of course some one could have the inside track .. but odds are that 99.9% dont Also, are you saying that the guy in the video has been right previously? I know nothing of his track record .. shed some light please :(
Of course some one could have the inside track .. but odds are that 99.9% dont
0.1% still leaves alot that do. But whatever.... We're all stupid until told only by the Microsoft machine.

Been building scenery for FS since 98. I hope there will be other ways to add scenery besides a download from a online store. I've made about 80 gig of photoreal for FSX. IF the scenery won't work in Flight but IF I can run the data through the Flight SDK to get new bgl files (or whatever format they'll be). Anyone care to speculate if I'll need to upload 80 gig to a online store to share with a few people. Anyone know how long it takes to upload 80 gig at 256k? :) I won't be doing it nor will I buy Flight if this is the case.
