what's going on?

I love to hear that they are holding out until it is as perfect as it can be. That's PMDG and it is what we have come to expect from their products. Keep up the good work. We will be satisfied when PMDG is :(

Question.......Does PMDG have a limit line?? For example..... VNAV issues. Is there a time limit that perhaps you've tried and tried and tried and its still not 100% right but 99.9999% correct? say its been 4 months and still no 100%, do you say "sorry but we cant!" and move on?I mean i know you all strive for exactness, but sometimes the software cant do everything you want............

I don't think they have never let anything go that couldn't be solved that I can remember. PMDG is just simply the best at what they do. It would be nice if they said, oh heck, we've done all we can do with this VNAV issue, lets move on and leave it alone. You already know what will happen next... It would be an all out on the forum if there are bugs that could have been avoided. I don't think for a minute that they would ever take the chance of damaging their reputation that has taken years to build. I am really looking forward to the NGX. Believe me, I come here everyday like a little boy waiting for a new toy to arrive. At 47, it actually brings me back to my childhood. So I enjoy that part while waiting. :)Best regards, Jeff Moss

Unless we're absolutely sure it cannot be fixed within the limits of the simulator, no. We take very seriously the fact that we're charging premium prices for our products and people expect premium quality for it - you don't buy a Ferrari and have it pull to the left on a straightaway as you drive it home from the dealership.

Trying to put something real into a Microsoft Flightsimulator can be very tricky (if not almost impossible), it seems it will a take while until its ready. So everybody should return to normal life and look again in a couple of month, maybe then there is another 737 on the market;-)Regards Sven

Is the problem with VNAV the ONLY thing stopping the product being moved to wide-beta? If so, why can't it be moved to wide-beta for the entire product to be tested instead of holding up progress just on this one thing? It would seem more beneficial to the project and bring about a swifter release if the next testing phase was allowed to begin while work continues on solving the VNAV problem and once that is solved, the wide-beta team can test the VNAV aspects of the product. Just my two cents.

No, but you do have it catch on fire and burn to the ground... Ouch! Cry.gif

I'm just teasing, I'm sure the NGX won't pull to the left or burn to the ground, unless of course you change the rudder trim or turn on failures.*EDIT* Speaking of engine fires is there any way to induce one by exceeding an engine parameter (N1,N2, EGT, Vibration) or is it like the 744 where you have to switch it on/off?

You still dont get it. Ref Ryans post above.Leave the "best for the product" to the team

Great question. I hope that there are consequences for bad behavior, or as much as can be coded given FSX limitations. Anything that can keep us on our toes, as FSX can be quite forgiving no matter what crazy things you try to do with the aircraft engines or controls. Such realism may be a turn off to new pilots, but it would be great to have user chosen options that allow for tire blowouts/fires, hot engine starts, stuff that made the JS4100 so much fun to operate!

I agree. Perhaps the best reason one of my favorite add-ons is the A2A Spitfire is because every time I pushed that throttle forward I didn't know if the engine would comply or would sputter and die or catch fire on me. It always kept me guessing and changing how I flew until I eventually got to the point where I could fly the plane to its limit and (almost) never have any engine trouble whatsoever. Hopefully PMDG includes some level of those consequences in the NGX, but the CFM56-7B is obviously much more complicated than the Merlin II/III, so I'm not really sure what to expect.

Premium prices ? I am afraid that $ 50-70 is too much for a single plane. This way piracy may interfere with legal businesses.
Hmm, I strongly disagree with you. Because a Porsche 911 might expensive to you for just a car, would that be an excuse to steal one?For me, regarding the amount of time I'll spend with the PMDG 737NGX, even $100 or $150 will be worth it. And yes, I'll have to save up long for that kind of money.

Could somebody (from PMDG) explain why it isn't possible to handle the Wide Beta phase and to let Dr. Vaos work on the VNAV bugs?I know the Wide Beta is a final check of everything. A kind of stimulation and dry-run for when the 'real' customers get the airplane. I'm sure the VNAV bugs will be solved when the work that needs to be done in the Wide Beta phase is done. Give the Wide Beta Team the current Build and treat the VNAV bug as 'Known Bug' during that phase and let Dr Vaos work on it...Or is everything I'm saying completely wrong?I really hope I can have this magnificent piece of software on the tarmac at Renton one day, I look forward to that day...The wait will be worth it but it can't hurt to speed some things up biggrin.gifRobert, Vin, Vangelis, Alex, Micheal, Armen, Jason, Paul, Matt, Henning and Ryan: Thank you for everything and good luck with the very last things!
