what's going on?

People have to realize that even if it went into wide beta today its probably going to be at least a month of solid testing, what happens then if there are issues that pop up, they have to be figured out then fixed then tested again, I also read in a thread Ryan stated that the manuals are not complete and probably won't be until they have a RC http://forum.avsim.net/topic/338982-user-manual-chaptered-release-schedule/Its the little things in a project that can eat up time, so just get it in your heads that the ngx will not be out anytime soon from an impatient customers point of view.biggrin.gif Just accept it

I didn't say that an high price represents an excuse, I told that if the price is too high may lead more guys to think twice before buying, considering a demo won't be available. That said, there is no excuse to choose piracy but this truth doesn't exclude the other one, thinking twice before spending a lot of money and without having a demo to test. A Ferrari costs almost twice than a Porsche but I prefer a Porsche anyway.I would believe that an appropriate price could be around $ 20- 30 for a single plane, above all considering that fans have been waiting since more than a year and they will be still waiting for several months to come with no clue on the release period. Only a deep and blind faith will move them and an high price is not fair due to these above mentioned reasons.-
Not to argue with you violently but...First off, we know the price range of PMDG aircraft ok. Its not going to be in the one dollar store; were all aware.Development has nothing to do with the price of the plane. If it took ten years this plane would not be $20-30.They didn't promise us anything, they could finish it up in another 4-5 months if they want.I own almost all of the PMDG aircraft, and for the quality and time use ive put into them I would have paid twice. (I can tell you either don't have a PMDG product or don't use it to often)

Hi, For those of you who discarded the FS9 737ng, why not go back to it, as the LNAV and VNAV works well and you could pretend it was the X version. That way it would pass the time and you would not need to argue. Patience is a virtue found in women but seldom in men (or boys). richard welsh.

some of us uninstalled FS9 as soon as FSX came out.

Kyle, noone on this forum has ever criticized PMDG's work, ie... coding, modeling, sound. We all know and acknowledge that they are the best in the business. What we have been critical of and will continue to be critical of is their public relations strategy. PMDG has been very inconsistent in it's communications with its customers. They have said all along that it will be ready when it's ready. That would be fine if they had stuck with that. But instead they wait until the furor reaches a high point and break the silence and say something like "It's almost done, don't make vacation plans, wide beta is planned for Monday, okay now wide Beta will be this Tuesday night late, okay wide beta will be next Monday." Then when those publicly announced targets are missed they go back into silence mode. They could prevent all of this angst by either not saying a word until they release the NGX or being wide open an answering every question that flies their way that doesn't involve proprietary design techniqes. Instead they try to do both. That's a really bad policy. It just makes customers feel like they're being played with. RSR has every right to do everything he's done so far in communicating with the customers. We at the same time have the right to respectfully criticize his communications policies unless and until we are banned from the forum for our opinions.Hiram Hunt

maybe they can finally post the main video mentioned (I know ppl need time to work on removing the bugs) but perhaps a break to edit and post the already completed videos that were mentioned awhile back will allow some time away from the vnav issue to give the brains a break and shed some ideas on the bug fixing?

I think the whole thing should be scraped. It sounds like Vapourware to me. Nobody can make a perfect product. Perfection is a fleeting illusion that can never be attained. Sounds like PMDG has a more serious problem with this product than they are willing to admit.Sam Hayes

I do think they should draw a line in the sand when it comes to perfection. Would I be worried that the VNAV is descending 100ft quicker than it should or LNAV is 1/4 mile out when doing a procedure turn..NO because I'm a simmer not a commercial Pilot (though I do have a PPL). I would be more than pleased if its 99% right and wait for a service pack :( Its just all the false starts that we get that is getting my back up :( Also while I'm on yet another RANT and I make no apologies for it(before the a really excited user get started) why can't they release a full list(not Pics) of liveries, Specifications, pricing if the product is SO NEAR?, the competition has their 737 out for a while now. So no need to hide her anymore........ RANT OVER

Unbelievable how a virtual airplane fires off so many people.

Hi,WoW, its amazing to me how many wanna-be tubeliner jockeys come here day-in and day-out and do nothing but whine about release dates, updates, wide beta announcements and the list just goes on-and-on. Is it that your just unable to grasp the concept of it will be released when its ready or are you just so impatient that you need to type the same thing over-and-over again on a nearly daily basis.Maybe PMDG should put out one final announcement that states: "NO MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS, PHOTOS, VIDEOS OR ANY OTHER PMDG 737NGX INFORMATION UNTIL THE PRODUCT IS FINISHED AND READY FOR RELEASE...END OF STORY" and make it a sticky post.It would be interesting to see the age of the whiners here at AVSIM, if your past puberty, I feel sorry for you.Joe, I know you started the post topic but I want you to know this is not necessarily directed at you. Its directed at the same individuals that come here on a nearly constant basis and whine. The only thing I find to be more annoying are the wanna-be forum police that sit in the shadows and wait to pounce on someone and yet they really don't contribute to the overall flightsim community.

To generlaize those same people you refer to would be the FIRST people to complain if bugs were found. They would be the FIRST to annonomusly deter others from the product (as we've seen by disgruntled fans elsewhere on AVSIM). I keep getting the image of Bart Simpson in the back of the station wagon repeating "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" You cannot expect to be treated as a mature individual if you do not behave as such. Get a grip! The plane will come out!(And when it does, someone will begin moaning for the T7... /sigh)

Well people interpret things in different ways, so many of the above posts are pure opinion. I think most have been civil throughout the many delays in development of the NGX , most understand the issues in the process. This forum consists of users from all over the world with varying cultures and ages, so there is no right or wrong way for users of this forum to interpret the information they are given about a proposed product and they can and should express freely if they wish.
